This creates a realistic, “forest-floor-like” surface that is modelled on natural habitats. Your animals will experience more different materials under their paws, claws or scales – this can enhance well-being because the environment feels more exciting and closer to nature. A key benefit is in encouraging foraging behaviour. In the wild, many animals spend a lot of time searching for food. This natural need is often neglected in the everyday lives of pets. With the Discovery Topping, you can hide treats or food specifically in the mixture. Your animals will thus be motivated to search, sniff and discover. This supports both physical activity and mental stimulation – two important factors for a balanced, occupied animal.
