Instead, gentle gripping techniques should be used to hold the animal safely and without harm. It is advisable to find out in advance about the specific needs and correct handling of each species to ensure the welfare of the animals during transport.

Not every transport box is suitable for every animal species. Here are some important points to bear in mind when transporting guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, degus, rats, chinchillas and mice:
✔ Transporting guinea pigs and rabbits - They need sufficient space and a stable, well-ventilated transport box. A non-slip floor ensures safety during the journey.
✔ Transport boxes for hamsters, mice and gerbils - These small rodents should be transported in an escape-proof, closed box with ventilation, as they could squeeze through bars.
✔ Transport cages for degus, chinchillas and rats - These animals are active and like to move around. A transport box with sufficient space and privacy reduces stress.
