Why test?Together with calcium, magnesium forms the total hardness. Along with potassium, magnesium is one of the macroelements required by plants for healthy and vigorous growth. Tap water often contains too little magnesium for aquatic plants, which can quickly lead to deficiency symptoms. Despite regular fertilisation of the aquarium water, too little magnesium may be available and the plants may stagnate in their growth.
