Arcadia LampGuard Pro
From
CHF 22.90
Arcadia LampGuard Pro – Protective grille for your terrarium lightingWith the Arcadia LampGuardPro you can protect your terrarium animals from direct contact with the lighting. The lamp guard prevents animals from touching hot lamps, wrapping themselves around them or sitting on them. At the same time, the guard protects the lamp from direct contact with the animals. The specially designed wire mesh allows as much light and UV radiation as possible to enter the terrarium. According to the manufacturer LampGuardPro reduces the total light output by around 15 %.The chosen mesh design and the glossy coating ensure high light transmission whilst providing protection.
You will need four suitable screws for assembly. Thanks to the integrated hinges on both sides, the cage can be opened to change the bulb once two screws have been removed. Multiple cable entry points facilitate cable routing and allow for use with different lighting systems.LampGuardPro is available in six lengths ranging from 410 to 1260 mm. Depending on the version, the protective grille is suitable for T8 lights, T5-HO lights and various Arcadia ProT5 and ShadeDweller systems. All versions are 100 mm wide and 50 mm deep.Your benefits at a glanceProtects animals from direct contact with hot lampsProtects the lighting from direct contact with animalsHigh light transmission thanks to a specially designed wire meshEasy bulb replacement thanks to hinges on both sidesMultiple cable entry points for suitable cable routingCoated, rust-resistant and wipe-clean surfaceSix lengths for different lighting systemsContents:LampGuardPro protective grille in the selected lengthInstructions for useChoose a protective grille that is suitable for your light fitting and its dimensions.CompatibilityLength: 410 mm > suitable for: ShadeDwellerPro (8W), MiniT5 (8W), T8 Standard (14W)Length: 510 mm > suitable for: T8 Standard 15 W Length: 660 mm > suitable for: T8 Standard 18/20 W, T5 High Output/ProT5 24 W, ShadeDwellerMax 14 W Length: 810 mm > suitable for: T8 Standard 25 WLength: 960 mm > suitable for: T8 Standard 30 W, T5 High Output/ProT5 39 W Length: 1260 mm > suitable for: T8 Standard 36/38/40 W, T5 High Output/ProT5 54 WWidth and depth for all variants: 100 × 50 mm.
Secure the lamp guard with four suitable screws and feed the cables through the designated openings. Disconnect the lighting from the mains before installation, cleaning or changing the lamp, and allow the lamp to cool down. Wipe the grille clean as required to ensure that deposits affect light transmission as little as possible.Zoo Roco Tip: Before purchasing, check the exact model name and length of your light fitting. A protective grille does not replace the prescribed distances from the lighting. When setting up your enclosure, also bear in mind that even a light-transmitting grille blocks some of the UV radiation.

LumenIZE Jungle Dawn Smart LED Bar
From
CHF 99.00
Arcadia LumenIZE JungleDawn LED – plant light with individually controllable daily cyclesThe Arcadia Reptile LumenIZE JungleDawn LED strip brings bright, visible light into your terrarium and provides your plants with energy for photosynthesis. The redesigned LED diodes offer increased light output and more photosynthetically active radiation, or PAR for short, beneath the light. This supports plant growth and creates a bright environment for your terrarium animals.Using the Arcadia Reptile LumenIZE app, you can continuously dim the lighting via Bluetooth and programme individual daily cycles. Let the light gradually get brighter in the morning and gently dim in the evening. Seasonal changes can also be taken into account by adjusting the lighting duration and brightness to suit the needs of your animals and plants. The LED strip is IP65-rated for protection against dust and water jets. Screw-fastened power and connection cables provide additional protection against penetrating moisture. This makes the light suitable for humid terrariums. However, it is not suitable for submersion.
Your settings are stored directly in the respective light. A replaceable backup battery keeps the internal clock and memory active in the event of a power cut. As soon as the power supply returns, the light continues the programmed daily cycle at the correct time. The battery serves to back up the clock and memory; it does not continue to operate the lighting in the event of a power cut.You can connect the JungleDawn LED strip to additional LumenIZE JungleDawn strips and LumenIZE ProT5 UV-B systems. This allows you to combine visible plant light with separately coordinated UV-B lighting.Important: The JungleDawn LED provides visible light and does not replace a UV-B lamp.

Exo Terra Daylight Basking Spot – Heat spot for terrariumsExo Terra Daylight Basking Spot – terrarium heat spot for creating localised basking areas and temperature zones for reptiles. The Exo Terra Daylight Basking Spot is a terrarium lamp designed for targeted lighting and heating of basking spots within the terrarium. The lamp combines visible daylight with appropriate heat radiation, thereby supporting natural day-night behaviour and the thermoregulation of reptiles. Exo Terra describes basking spots as lamps that combine visible light with appropriate infrared-A or NIR heat radiation. The focused cone of light and heat allows you to create a local basking spot within the terrarium. Reptiles can seek out this area specifically to regulate their body temperature. At the same time, this creates temperature zones, allowing the animals to choose between warmer and cooler areas.

The lamp should be positioned so that it creates a localised basking spot whilst also allowing your pet to seek out cooler areas within the terrarium.Check the temperature at the basking spot and in the cooler areas regularly using a suitable thermometer. The distance between the lamp and the animal must be set so as to prevent overheating or the risk of burns. If necessary, use a protective grille and ensure that the animals cannot come into direct contact with the lamp. The lamp must not be sprayed with water and is not suitable for areas that are constantly damp or wet. For reptiles requiring UV light, suitable UVB lighting is also necessary, as a basking spot does not replace UV lighting.Zoo Roco TipA good basking spot is crucial for many reptiles so that they can actively regulate their body temperature. Once you have set up the spot, be sure to measure the temperature directly at the basking spot and compare it with the requirements of your species. Depending on the species, the height of the terrarium and the room temperature, a different wattage may be appropriate.

Natural lighting conditions
This is particularly important as it has not yet been possible to simulate natural light conditions in the terrarium. In nature, light intensities of 100,000 lux and more are achieved. A high light intensity is particularly important for the well-being of desert dwellers and influences the colouration and activity of the animals. Although the Bright Sun 70W does not quite come close to the sun with over 60,000 lux at a distance of 30 cm, it is far ahead of mixed-light UV spotlights (approx. 10,000 lux), fluorescent lamps and spotlights.
High energy efficiency
The basis for this high light output is the energy efficiency of the lamp. A large proportion of the energy used is converted into light, whereas with filament lamps 95% of the energy is converted into heat. As a result, the waste heat of the lamps is low and they can also be used in smaller terrariums. Thanks to the efficient reflector design, almost all the heat generated is concentrated in the light focus, making the lamp ideal for creating warm basking areas.
Optimised for desert reptiles
The spectrum of the lamp has been optimised for desert reptiles. Tests have shown that reptiles from desert regions prefer a daylight spectrum with a colour temperature of approx. 6000K. This is achieved by the BrightSun UV Desert. Together with the heat and UV radiation as well as the high illuminance, the animals practically have a small mini sun in the terrarium.
The expected lifespan is over 6000 hours; however, replacement is recommended after one year, as the spectrum begins to change after a certain age due to technological factors, and both UV radiation and overall light output diminish over time. The Bright Sun fits into E27 porcelain sockets, but requires a special ballast such as the Lucky Reptile Bright Control ballasts for operation.
Variants from CHF 57.90
Lucky Reptile Bright Sun ZOO Desert
CHF 94.90
Lucky Reptile Bright Sun ZOO Desert 150WThis Bright Sun version was developed especially for large terrariums where UV and also heat radiation must be brought over a large distance to the animal. The lamp has a correspondingly strong focus, so that acceptable performance is still achieved even at distances of over 100 cm. By grouping several lamps to a single point, the operating range can be further improved and species-appropriate conditions can be created in typical zoo terrariums without having to suspend lamps in a way that is disturbing for the observer. As the technical possibilities are exhausted for this extreme application, the Bright Sun Zoo unfortunately does not achieve the usual UV service life of one year and should be replaced after 6 months at the latest. Due to the extreme performance, it is imperative that the application and distance recommendations are adhered to. Operation is possible with the well-known Bright Control ballasts and Thermo Socket luminaires.

Lucky Reptile Bright Sun ULTRA Desert
CHF 69.00
Lucky Reptile Bright Sun Ultra Desert 150WThe Bright Sun ULTRA Desert is a high-power lamp that is exclusively suitable for large terrariums. It is essential to keep a minimum distance of 40 cm from the animal. At this distance, temperatures of over 50 °C are already reached! Thanks to a special reflector design, part of the light is strongly concentrated in the centre to achieve good UV and heat output. The remaining light, however, is diffused over a wide area and thus achieves a good illumination of the terrarium. The Bright Sun ULTRA Desert is thus a unique hermaphrodite lamp that perfectly suits the requirements of large terrariums.

In our terrarium shop Zoo Roco you will find a large selection of professional terrarium lighting - for beginners and experienced keepers.
What light do reptiles need?
Reptiles are heavily dependent on ambient light - especially UV radiation. UV-A promotes natural behaviour, while UV-B is essential for vitamin D3 synthesis and therefore for calcium utilisation. Without UVB light, there is a long-term risk of deficiency symptoms such as rickets.
UV lamps for reptiles - essential for good health
We offer a wide range of UVB and UVA lamps for different animal species and terrarium types. These special lamps simulate sunlight and enable species-appropriate keeping of animals such as: Bearded dragons, chameleons, geckos, tortoises or snakes.
LED lamps - energy-efficient basic lighting
LED lamps are ideal for basic lighting in terrariums. They generate hardly any heat, are long-lasting and energy-saving. In combination with UV light sources, they create a bright, natural environment for your animals.
Light sources, lamp systems & accessories
You will find everything you need for optimum lighting in our range:
Light sources: UVB lamps, daylight lamps, heat lamps, ceramic radiators
Lamp sets: complete systems with socket, reflector and light source
