Make the base dense and let it dry. The drying time depends on the ambient temperature and the amount of substrate used. Do not put reptiles and amphibians in the terrarium until the substrate is completely dry (when it is solid). Combine the substrate with roots, stones, branches and other natural materials to create a realistic environment.
