Therese Schumacher

Managing Director, Accounting

Thesi IS the Zoo Roco in human form. She has been successfully running this specialised shop for over 30 years and does so with such passion that it is second to none. Thesi is our mastermind because she knows the ins and outs of every order and every item - there is rarely a question that Thesi doesn't have an answer for - and if such a case arises, she doesn't hesitate to tap into her huge network to get well-founded answers. So no matter what your concern - with Thesi you are with the right person.

Jessica Moosmann

Deputy Manager / Retail specialist EFZ, specialising in pet shops

Jessica has been working at Zoo Roco for many years - among other things, she completed her training here. In addition to her Jack Russell Terrier Murphy, Jessi loves terrariums and aquariums more than anything else. Thanks to her many years of experience in the pet trade, she has a wealth of specialist knowledge and will be happy to help you with any questions you may have about dogs, cats, mice - and all other animals.

Tanja Gross

Retail specialist EFZ, specialising in pet shops

Tanja is our woman for the rough stuff - whether it's for shop remodelling or new concepts for a specialist area - Tanja is very enthusiastic about ensuring that our shop is always tidy and beautifully designed. As a newcomer to the profession, you can feel her great motivation and love for her speciality. Tanja always has a solution or an idea ready - no matter how tricky the tasks and questions.

Anja Lerch

Retail specialist EFZ, specialising in pet shops, FBA animal carer

We had the pleasure of supporting Anja during her training, so we are all the more delighted that she has found her way back to us. After several years as a qualified pet shop assistant, Anja is now a top expert in her field.

Anja is always very committed to the welfare of animals and species-appropriate care. She will be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

Anja is a passionate keeper of snakes, invertebrates and frogs at home. But she also has a very warm relationship with dogs, which is immediately apparent when we welcome our furry friends to the shop.

Anina Schwab

Retail Specialist EFZ, Online Shop Management, FBA Animal Carer (in training)

Anina likes to break new ground, and so she was the first apprentice to complete the Retail Specialist – Online Shop Management – qualification with us. She has now passed this course with flying colours, which is why Anina thought she might as well go on to do a further qualification straight away.

With her dog, gerbils, hamster and aquarium, Anina already has personal experience in many areas and skilfully incorporates this into her day-to-day work. She loves animals more than anything, but seeing our customers’ happy faces is also a major motivation for Anina to work in this profession.

Lena Baldi

Retail Specialist (EFZ), specialising in pet shops, designing shopping environments

Lena completed her training with us and we’re delighted that she continues to support us so energetically. Lena has an excellent knowledge of all specialist areas and is incredibly skilled at using her expertise to advise customers. With Lena, you always get exactly what she promises.

Her personal passion clearly lies with horses, which is why you’ll often find Lena outdoors – come rain or shine. In our pet supply store, Lena is passionate about setting up new enclosures for rodents and birds, but she also frequently pops into the cat section to ensure the product presentation is always just right for our customers.

Julia Strasser

Retail Assistant EBA, specialising in pet shop management, (in training)

This summer, Julia successfully began her career with us at Zoo Roco. She is completing her apprenticeship with us as a Retail Assistant EBA specialising in pet shop retail.

She particularly enjoys spending time in the animal room with the guinea pigs, degus, cockatiels and zebra finches. At home, she has two cats and a dog, with whom Julia spends a lot of time. The whole team warmly welcomes Julia to her training placement and we look forward to an exciting and educational apprenticeship during which we will be able to support Julia.

Rory Börlin

Internship PrA training

Rory is completing an internship with us in preparation for training in retail. You will find Rory working in animal care and merchandise management, where he is very committed to his work. Rory is very enthusiastic about our birds, rodents and rabbits and actively helps to provide the best possible conditions for the animals. He spends a lot of time with his dog, and the two of them make a great team.

Mirjam von Dach

Marketing Communications Planner, Online shop support, office assistant

Mirjam is the woman in charge of the online shop. She tests new products, puts them up for sale on the shop and describes the items with a keen eye for detail. As a long-standing employee, she has acquired a good level of expertise and can often find a solution to customer queries. When Mirjam is not behind the computer at Zoo Roco, she is guaranteed to be busy with her many pets at home.

Fabian Heilig

Commercial Clerk EFZ (in training)

In August 2026, Fabian began his second apprenticeship as a commercial clerk (EFZ) as a career changer. He is completing the practical part of his training here at Zoo Roco and works in administration and managing the online shop. If he’s not at his desk or at the till, he’s probably watching the mud-skippers or the zebra finches. Ever since he joined the company, he’s been diligently gathering inspiration for his very first pet, and we’re sure he’ll find just what he’s looking for here.

Balthasar

Zoo Roco cat

Balthasar is every customer's favourite. With his very pushy, affectionate nature, he has already won many a heart. He doesn't particularly love dogs, but he tests our scratching posts with great vigour. And if it's not so exciting outside, he loves to ‘watch the telly’ inside with the rodents and birds.
