  • Simple and reliable control of water values in aquariums and ponds.
  • Determination of the optimal carbonate hardness for freshwater and saltwater
  • Colour change test: Fill plastic cuvette with water sample, add reagent drop by drop until colour changes from blue to yellow. Number of drops = level of carbonate hardness

  • 1 quick test, KH Test. Incl. reagent and plastic vial. Refill reagent avaiable separately

Healthy aquarium/healthy pond with conditions close to nature
The right water values are dependent on the fish stock and the plants in the aquarium/pond. Even if the water looks clear it can be contaminated. With bad values diseases or algae can appear in the aquarium/pond. To maintain a healthy aquarium with conditions close to nature it is important to check and adapt the water values regularly.

For each water analysis JBL provides water tests in the form of quick tests or colour change tests. These determine a certain value or several values in one go. With these water tests you can recognise algae problems and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc.

Why test?
The well-being of aquarium and pond dwellers and the growth of aquatic plants depend to a large extent on the KH level being kept as constant as possible. The carbanate hardness is one of the most important water values since it keeps the pH level stable. The KH should never drop below 4 °dKH.

Nesea sp. Gold
Nesea sp. GoldNesea sp. "Gold" is a stem plant, with intense yellow to orange colors that is rare in aquarium plants. Growing difficulty: : medium, demandingLight requirement: mediumCO₂ requirement: mediumAdult plant height: 40-50 cmGrowth: mediumTemperature: 22-28°CPlacement in aquarium: third levelOrigin: AfricaCup diameter 6 cmNesea Crassicaulis Gold (Nesea sp. Gold) from Africa, a quite rare and very decorative plant with medium requirements and moderate growth rate. With sufficient light, it takes on colors ranging from bright yellow to intense orange. Nesea sp. Gold is not very demanding in terms of growing conditions. The yellow coloration of the leaves can be achieved even with moderately intense light. The stronger the lighting, the more the color shifts towards an orange tone. The plant can reach a height of up to 50 cm and is thus intended for the third level. However, it has a fairly moderate growth, so it does not require frequent pruning and with good care can be used as a foreground plant. Nesea sp. Gold needs CO₂ in gaseous form, but the carbon dioxide requirement is not too high and medium due to the growth rate is not too fast. It requires nutrient-rich water for optimal appearance. However, attention should be paid to potassium levels, as excess can cause deformation of the growth cones. It grows best at temperatures between 22 and 28 degrees Celsius. Since it prefers high temperatures, it is suitable for tanks with a population of extremely heat-loving fish. The undoubted advantage of this plant is the combination of a very unusual leaf color and low requirements. Nesea sp. Gold provides a good contrast with both green and red foliage plants, and the effect is relatively easy to achieve. It does not require a large amount of CO2. It likes soft and slightly acidic water, but can grow in other parameters as well. It needs good light, a nutrient-rich substrate, CO2 and adequate fertilization to achieve intense coloration. If you want to keep Nesea sp. Gold as a background plant, you should prune it regularly. This will not only keep it at the right height, but will also make it thicker and give it a striking appearance. After pruning, the plant will rejuvenate and the cut tops can be planted in the ground.Planting: Before planting, simply rinse the plants from the gel. Unlike plants kept in rockwool, partial drainage is not required..

Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Red
Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Red' Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Red' is an extremely decorative plant for the second level of an aquarium. It is characterized by narrow, strongly curled leaves with a dark brown-red coloration. This variety originates from India and is a true rarity.Difficulty of growing: mediumLight requirement: mediumCO₂ requirement: lowAdult plant height: up to 40 cmGrowth: moderateTemperature: 23-27°CPlacement in aquarium: second levelOrigin: Asia6 cm cup diameterCryptocoryne Spiralis 'Red' is a very special and beautiful plant native to Asia. It can be found from Bangladesh to India to the island of Sri Lanka. In its natural habitat, this Cryptocoryne grows along streams and rivers in forests and higher elevations with humid climates. It is still little known in Europe and is considered a rarity in aquaristics, especially since it is rarely available in stores. Cryptocoryne Spiralis 'Red' is characterized by its dark brown-red, narrow leaves, which are strongly wavy and resemble a stripe with a wrinkled edge. The leaves are grouped in a rosette. In appearance, this plant resembles another Zwittera variety, namely Cryptocoryne Cispatula var. Red Cryptocoryne Spiralis contrasts well with green plants and is ideal for the background of the aquarium. It is original and unusual, making it an eye-catcher.It is not very demanding in cultivation, does not require special care and does not need regular pruning. You just need to provide her with the right growing conditions. It needs moderate light. It has no special requirements for pH, which is 6.0-7.0. It prefers moderately hard water up to 10°. The plant does not need any special fertilization as long as a nutrient-rich substrate is available. It is good if it contains an addition of clay and peat. It is also important that it is at least 5-7 cm thick, as this variety develops a rather strong root system. It has long, creeping stems and easily reproduces by spreading. To obtain a seedling, simply divide it.Planting: The plant must be removed from the cup and thoroughly rinsed from the gel under running water. This is best done by placing the plant in a container of lukewarm water. Most of the gel will then fall off by itself. Divide the contents of the cup into 1-2 cm lumps and then place them at a small distance on the selected items.
