  • Aquarium water test for healthy, clear water
  • 1 rapid test, KH test. Incl. reagent and plastic cuvette. Refill reagent available separately

Healthy aquarium/healthy pond with near-natural conditions
The correct water values in the aquarium/pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Even if the water looks clear, it may be polluted. If the values are poor, diseases or algae can form in the aquarium/pond. For a healthy aquarium/pond with near-natural conditions, it is important to regularly check and adjust the water values.

JBL offers water tests in the form of rapid tests or colour change tests for every water analysis. These determine a specific value or several values simultaneously. With these water tests, algae problems can be recognised and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. can be determined.

Why test?
Maintaining a suitable KH value as consistently as possible is an important prerequisite for the well-being of the aquarium and pond inhabitants and for aquatic plants to thrive. Carbonate hardness is one of the most important water values, as it keeps the pH value stable. The KH should never fall below 4 °dKH.

JBL Biotopol
Variant: 250ml | Variant (1): 250ml
JBL Biotopol water conditioner Prepares tap water quickly to biotope-compatible aquarium water and is suitable for every water change and new aquariums. Prepares tap water quickly to biotope-compatible aquarium water. Tactilely protects mucous membranes, gills, skin and fins. For every water change and new aquariums. Immediately neutralizes toxic heavy metals and chlorine. Vitamin B complex has been proven to reduce stress in fish. Aloe vera plant extract protects the mucous membranes of the fish. Refill bags available. Many aquarists mistakenly believe that their tap water is never chlorinated. But be careful: as soon as waterworks work on the pipe system, it is then heavily chlorinated for disinfection. And even if no chlorine is added to the tap water, disinfectant substitutes are often added to make the water low-germ drinking water. JBL Biotopol is highly recommended for this purpose and especially for neutralizing heavy metals. A special feature of JBL Biotopol is the valuable ingredient aloe vera (a plant extract), which effectively protects the skin not only of humans but also of fish.

Catappa leaves also contain natural plant dyes that provide more intense and vibrant fish colors. Catappa-X therefore focuses primarily on color enhancement and health promotion. Humin Pro+ is a combination of fulvic and humic acids - organic molecules formed from the decomposition of plant and animal material found in soil, peat, streams and natural waters. Humic acids can replicate the tropical water conditions found in the natural habitat of many aquarium fish. Humin Pro+ is particularly recommended for tropical fish, while Catappa-X is suitable for all fish species. In addition, humic substances stimulate enzyme activity not only in fish, but also in plants and microorganisms in the aquarium. Aquatic plants can absorb nutrients more efficiently, while beneficial microorganisms continue to thrive - ensuring a healthy and stable ecosystem in the aquarium. JBL ProScan - Water analysis / Smartphone App
Variant: Basic set | Variant (2): Basic set
JBL ProScan - Water analysis via smartphone app JBL ProScan - Water analysis with evaluation via smartphone app With JBL Pro Scan, the current aquarium water values can be determined quickly and easily via smartphone app. All you need to do is install the free JBL app from the Apple AppStore or Google PlayStore on your smartphone. Basic set: Contains 24 analysis strips (GH, KH, pH, nitrite, nitrate, chlorine and CO₂ calculation) with associated JBL ProScan ColorCard. The colour chart serves as a reference when scanning the analysis strip. The result is evaluated and, if necessary, instructions are displayed on how the water values can be optimised. The corresponding app is available free of charge. Refill set: 24 analysis strips for digital evaluation with the JBL ProScan app. Depending on the area of application, the app can be used in "Aquarium fresh water", "Garden pond water" and "Water" mode. If "Aquarium freshwater" and "Water" are selected, the app also automatically calculates the current CO2 content in the water from the values determined for pH and KH. Based on the results of the analysis, the app provides specific recommendations for action and information on how to achieve ideal water values. The "Water" function only provides the pure water values. The recording of the analysis strips and the calibration with the ColorCard should be carried out in bright daylight or artificial light. Direct sunlight should be avoided. The specified sequence of the app should always be followed during the measurement to ensure correct results. The app can be used in German and French. Instructions for use:After starting the app for the first time, a one-off calibration using the JBL ProScan ColourCard is required. This calibration can be carried out quickly and easily by anyone. Afterwards, the water values can be analysed and evaluated immediately in conjunction with the JBL ProScan analysis strips. Immerse the analysis strip in water for 1 second, shake it off and then place it on the reference colour card (JBL ProScan ColorCard). Select the water type with the free ProScan app (in the Apple store & Google PlayStore), scan the colour card like a QR code and wait briefly for the result (waiting time is carried out by the app). The result is displayed directly in mg/l, ° hardness and the pH value. The values are evaluated by the app (good - medium - bad) and recommendations for optimisation are displayed. The type of ambient light is automatically evaluated and taken into account for colour calibration. The JBL ProScan analysis strips have been specially adapted for evaluation with the colour chart. No accuracy can be guaranteed with other test strips.

JBL Fe Iron Test

Helps determine the ideal iron content to check the fertilisation for freshwater and marine water Laboratory comparator system to compensate the inherent water colouring: fill plastic cuvette with sample water, add reagents to another cuvette, place cuvettes in holder, read values on colour chart Duration of use: for setting up a new aquarium: 1 x after setting up, afterwards weekly. In case of green algae problems or when plants don’t grow properly. Testing aquarium water for healthy, clear water 1 quick test, Iron Test Fe. Contents for approx. 50 measurements, incl. reagent, 2 glassvials with screw cap, syringe, comparator block and Fe colour scale. Refill reagent available separately Healthy aquariums with conditions close to natureThe right water values are dependent on the fish stock and the plants inside the aquarium. Even if the water looks clear it can be contaminated. With bad values diseases or algae can appear in the aquarium. To maintain a healthy aquarium with conditions close to nature it is important to check and adapt the water values regularly. For each water analysis JBL provides water tests in the form of quick tests or colour change tests. These determine a certain value or several values in one go. With these water tests you can recognise algae problems and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. Why test? In addition to a sufficient CO2 supply, iron and trace elements are essential for water plants. Strongly growing aquatic plants permanently need iron and other trace elements, and these are only durable for a limited period during the coupling to so-called chelates, a common feature in modern fertiliser preparations (e.g. JBL Ferropol, JBL Fe +Microelements), so regular monitoring with the JBL Iron Test Fe is needed, along with repeated fertilisation if necessary. Pond owners should check their well water for iron before using it for their pond. Too high iron content can lead to problems in the pond.
