The Exo Terra Compact Top is a compact terrarium lamp cover designed for the Exo Terra glass terrarium. The easy-to-install cover accommodates terrarium lamps or low wattage incandescent lamps. You can use a combination of different Exo Terra Repti Glo terrarium bulbs (PT2226 / PT2227 / PT2228) to achieve the ideal proportions of ultraviolet and visible light. A bulb such as the Daytime Heat Lamp increases the ambient air temperature. Additional accessories such as the digital Exo Terra thermometer or hygrometer and the Exo Terra thermostat or hygrostat can be slid into a special recess on the cover.

The Exo Terra Glass Terrarium is the ideal reptile or amphibian housing designed by European herpetologists. The front opening doors allow easy access for maintenance and feeding. A specially designed lock will prevent escape and the doors can be opened separately. The full screen top ventilation allows UVB and infrared penetration, and is completely removable for easy access while decorating or cleaning. In the back of the screen cover are 5 closable wire or tube inlets on both sides to install Heat Wave Rocks, Waterfalls, sensors, etc. inside the terrarium. The bottom plate of the terrarium is raised to mount a substrate heater to heat a part of the extended ground surface. The extra high fixed front window is ideal for thick layers of substrates (burrowing reptiles), aquatic parts (paludarium) or to mount an Exo Terra reptile den. The natural background is in the same colour like all other Exo Terra decoration items (Water Dishes, Waterfalls, Heat Wave Rocks, etc.) and provides an extra climbing dimension.

Advantages of the LED technology are low energy consumption, low heat emission and a long life of the light emitting diodes. Therefore, illuminating terrariums all night long is possible, without hindering the natural nocturnal drop of temperature as with other light sources. Especially nightlight incandescent lamps consume a lot of energy and consequently produce a lot of unwanted heat as well. In addition their ability to illuminate the terrarium properly and allow nighttime viewing is limited.The energy consumption of the LEDs in the Night Sky LED set is merely 0,2W per LED. This is the most energy efficient way to illuminate a terrarium at night.
The Night Sky LED set contains 3 moonlight LEDs and an electric transformer, with which up to 6 LEDs can be powered. Additional LEDs are available separately.
