Royal Canin Cat Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Dry
For adult cats prone to overweight
5 to 12 weeks until the dissolution of struvite urinary stones. To prevent recurrence, the diet should be continued for at least another 6 months. After complete recovery (urine control), OBESITY MANAGEMENT or SATIETY SUPPORT can be fed. If the cat is neutered and of ideal weight, products from the NEUTERED range are recommended.
Pet owners should feed affected animals exclusively URINARY S/O MODERATE CALORIE, as otherwise the effectiveness of the product would be limited. URINARY S/O wet food is recommended for recurrent idiopathic cystitis.
Important notes:
- Veterinary diet food must only be given in consultation with your vet.
- During treatment with a veterinary diet, you should regularly (approx. every 6 months) consult your vet for a check-up.
- If your pet’s state of health deteriorates, seek veterinary advice immediately.
Moderate calorie intake
The calorie-reduced diet makes it possible to limit weight gain in cats prone to overweight (e.g. after neutering, purely indoor cats).
Increased urine volume
The recipe supports the increase in urine volume. This counteracts the formation of struvite and calcium oxalate stones.
Protection of the bladder mucosa
Glycosaminoglycans (GAG) are natural components of the bladder mucosa and can protect against the ingress of bacteria and toxins.
Dissolution of struvite stones
The composition of the food supports the dissolution of struvite crystals/stones.
