The Exo Terra Reptile UVB100 emits optimal levels of UVB, similar to that of shady environments such as rain forests or other tropical locations. Reptiles living in these habitats receive moderate UV radiation due to climatological conditions (fairly high humidity, changes in weather, etc) that prevent unfiltered sunlight from reaching the reptile’s basking site. The optimal Vitamin D3 yield index ensures vitamin D3 photosynthesis to aid calcium absorption and prevent metabolic diseases.

The lamp has a correspondingly strong focus, so that acceptable performance is still achieved even at distances of over 100 cm. By grouping several lamps to a single point, the operating range can be further improved and species-appropriate conditions can be created in typical zoo terrariums without having to suspend lamps in a way that is disturbing for the observer. As the technical possibilities are exhausted for this extreme application, the Bright Sun Zoo unfortunately does not achieve the usual UV service life of one year and should be replaced after 6 months at the latest. Due to the extreme performance, it is imperative that the application and distance recommendations are adhered to. Advantages of the LED technology are low energy consumption, low heat emission and a long life of the light emitting diodes. Therefore, illuminating terrariums all night long is possible, without hindering the natural nocturnal drop of temperature as with other light sources. Especially nightlight incandescent lamps consume a lot of energy and consequently produce a lot of unwanted heat as well. In addition their ability to illuminate the terrarium properly and allow nighttime viewing is limited.The energy consumption of the LEDs in the Night Sky LED set is merely 0,2W per LED. Ist die Wasseraufnahmefähigkeit des Tons überschritten, kann das Wasser auch problemlos am Terrariumboden stehen bleiben. Solange die Höhe der mit Hydro Drain geschaffenen Drainageschicht nicht überschritten wird, wird eine Versumpfung des normalen Bodengrunds verhindert. Durch seine Wasserspeicherfähigkeiten erhöht Hydro Drain ausserdem die Luftfeuchtigkeit im Terrarium und ist praktisch um Pflanzen mit ausreichend Grundwasser zu versorgen. Wir empfehlen, in das Terrarium eine mindestens 3 cm hohe Schicht Hydro Drain einzubringen und diese mit unserem speziellen Hydro Fleece zu bedecken. Auf dieses wird dann der normale Bodengrund wie z.B. Terrarienhumus oder Jungle Bedding gegeben. Das Hydro Fleece verhindert, dass Erde zwischen das Tongranulat sickert, während das Wasser problemlos durchfliessen kann. Hydro Drain ist für die Verwendung mit Bodenheizungen geeignet.
