The young fish are growing and need important nutrients for development. Vital vitamins and the bioelement inositol are needed to strengthen the immune system. With young fish it is essential that the food size fits the mouth size. It is better to feed a feed that is too small than a feed that is too large! The appropriate phosphate content of the feed is essential for healthy bone formation. Too little phosphate and calcium will lead to bone deformities. When the young fish are large enough, supplementation with live Artemia (brine shrimp) is ideal. JBL offers a complete program for this = JBL Artemio.In the case of fry, a distinction is made between the fry of egg-laying and live-bearing species. After hatching, the young fish of egg-laying species are considerably smaller and first feed on infusoria (microorganisms) which they find in their environment. Many species then also accept liquid food (JBL PRONOVO BEL FLUID). Shortly afterwards they accept fine dust food (JBL PRONOVO BEL BABY TOM or the dust food from the first tin of the JBL PRONOVO BABY set). As soon as they have grown again a little, you can change to the 2nd can of JBL PRONOVO BABY. If the parents are brooders (e.g. cichlids), a long pipette or a piece of hose helps to bring the food dissolved in water specifically to the young fish. In the case of egg-laying or even mouth-breeding species, the young fish are larger and immediately eat the food from the second can of JBL PRONOVO BABY and live Artemia (JBL Artemio System). Red mosquito larvae are rich in nutrients and are the basis of the diet of many fish species in nature. Alternative to live and frozen food: supplementary food for tropical freshwater fish. The drying process preserves the nutrients No water turbidity: better water quality due to better digestibility of the food, which reduces fish excrement  Scope of delivery: original sealed, air-tight and lightproof, recyclable box with dosing aid in the lid.  Red mosquito larvae are the ideal food for strengthening fish. Chironomid larvae sometimes appear en masse and in nature are a main food base for many, many species of fish. They are NOT mosquito larvae (Culicidae).Ideally, you should find a main food for your ornamental fish, e.g. JBL PRONOVO BEL, and supplement it with a second main food, e.g. JBL PRONOVO COLOR. Alternately, treats and supplements such as JBL PRONOVO SPIRULINA or JBL PRONOVO FIL, FEX, DAPH or ARTEMIO are added. This guarantees a varied diet for the treated fish.Food size/mouth size: This may sound trivial, but it is important that the size of the food corresponds to the size of the fish's mouth. Not all fish are capable of biting into larger pieces of food. The size of the fish to which the food size is adapted is indicated on all JBL food cans, at the bottom left on the front of the label. There are few freshwater fish that will not eat red mosquito larvae unless they are too large for their mouths (e.g., neon eels). East African cichlids from lakes Malawi and Tanganyika should NEVER be fed red mosquito larvae. For reasons still unknown, they do not tolerate red mosquito larvae. On the other hand, white or black mosquito larvae are not a problem for the cichlids of these two lakes.

Liquizell (50 ml) Liquid starter feed for larvae, for feeding as of 3 days old, and also for invertebrates.Instructions for use: During the first few days, artemias are not in a position to accept food particles which are larger than the photoplankton found in nature. Because the individual particles agglomerate during the plankton is dried, Hobby´s special production process has to first brake them down again into a very fine particle. This ensures the nauplias´ ability to feed themselves in their early development stages and those to a large extent reduces infant fatality. The HOBBY-LIQUIZELL starter food can be kept for an almost unlimited period of time. Because one of the most common reasons for failure in the breeding of artemias is overfeeding and the "pollution" of the water associated with this, please observe the dosage recommendation. Dosage: From the third day feed the nauplias with HOBBY-LIQUIZELL. Shake the Liquizell bottle well before administering the dosage. This enables the sediments to dissolve completely and thus produces a balanced liquid concentration. Feed in Liquizell drop by drop into your breeding container until the water turns light green. As an example, for a 5 l. artemia breeding container from the HOBBY-INCUBATOR SET, this corresponds to approx. 20 drops. You should only add HOBBY- LIQUIZELL again when the cloudiness of the water has been completely cleared by the fish. From day 10 of their life it is now possible to feed the fish with HOBBY-MIKROZELL.
