Salvinia auriculata (Ohrensalvinie)
Salvinia auriculataSalvinia Auriculata (Brazilian salvinia) is a floating plant native to South America. It grows moderately quickly so that its population can be controlled. Easy to grow. Absorbs nitrogen to combat algae. Propagates by spreading.Difficulty of cultivation: easy to mediumLight requirement: medium to highCO₂ requirement: lowHeight of the adult plant: 0.5 cmGrowth: moderate to fastTemperature: 22 - 24°CPlacement in the aquarium: SurfaceOrigin: South and Central AmericaCup diameter 6 cmSalvinia Auriculata (Brazilian Salvinia) is a floating ornamental plant. It is native to the calm, still waters of South and Central America. It can be found from Paraguay to Cuba. It owes its popularity above all to its original appearance. Its small oval leaves with a diameter of 10 mm cm are arranged opposite each other on an elongated leaf stalk. These leaves are covered with fine hairs that trap air bubbles, allowing them to float. Depending on the light intensity, they are wavy or flat. Salvinia forms a third type of underwater leaves on which the spores are deposited.Like all floating plants, Salvinia is recommended for shady waters . Its great appetite for nitrogen and phosphorus compounds makes this plant a good ally in the fight against algae. Salvinia has low light and nutrient requirements. It grows well in both moderate and strong light. As a floating plant, it does not require a substrate but draws all the necessary nutrients directly from the water. During the vegetation period, it reproduces by spreading, whereby the growth rate is moderate. This makes it easy to control its growth and remove excess plants. It grows to a length of 3-6 cm and likes warm, humid air, so it is advisable to use a glass or cover when growing it.It should be placed in such a way that no condensation falls on the plants. It adapts very quickly to the new parameters. However, it should be borne in mind that it will die if there is too little light. It thrives best in soft to medium-hard water at 22-24°C. The in vitro culture of plants is carried out in tissue culture laboratories. Thanks to the sterile production conditions, the cuttings are free from snails, algae or pathogens.Planting:The plant must be removed from the cup and thoroughly rinsed of the gel under running water. This is best done by placing the plant in a container of lukewarm water. Most of the gel will then fall off by itself. Place the plant on the surface of the water.

JBL PRONOVO BEL FLAKES S 100ml
JBL PRONOVO BEL FLAKES S Aquarium staple food flakes in size S for small aquarium fish from 3 to 10 cm in size for community aquariums.Prebiotic and floating aquarium fish food: special balast substances in the food provide the beneficial intestinal bacteria with nourishment for healthy digestionNatural raw materials without artificial additives for a natural diet and healthy aquarium fish. Tested on JBL research expeditions in the tropicsVery high acceptance even by fussy fish species due to high-quality raw materials such as salmon, squid, shrimps and garlicWith the very high-quality natural astaxanthin from krill and spirulina, which ensures perfect colour formation in ornamental fishScope of delivery: original sealed, airtight and lightproof, recyclable tin with click-doser as feeding aid or 20 g in a fresh bagIn community aquariums with different species of fish, the ornamental fish kept will also have different requirements for the fish food. JBL PRONOVO BEL takes into account the different types of food and offers your fish a great variety and diversity for a natural and healthy diet. If you would like to perfect the food supply, you can supplement the main food JBL PRONOVO BEL with other food types from the JBL species concept as well as treats. The biological species concept for ornamental fish:In addition to a staple food such as JBL PRONOVO BEL for community aquariums, the JBL PRONOVO species concept is available to your fish. Within the species concept you can supplement food specifically for fish species or also choose instead of the main food. It is not a problem if, for example, your fighting fish also eats the food for your barbs and vice versa. It is only important that you offer the appropriate food for each group of fish. Variety is always positive!Would you, for example, like to feed your neon or armoured catfish exactly the right food? No problem: in the JBL species concept you will find a granulate for neon tetras (and other small tetras) which is suitable for mouths and whose composition is precisely adapted to the needs of the fish, including insects: JBL PRONOVO NEON. In their natural habitats in South America, neon tetras live in very nutrient-poor black water biotopes and depend on small, mouth-friendly plankton. Corydoras, on the other hand, live on the bottom and have a different food spectrum. JBL PRONOVO CORYDORAS (Corydoras = scientific name of the armoured catfish species) therefore contains suitable raw materials such as shrimps and spirulina. The armoured catfish need a varied diet for a healthy diet. The shrimps are representative of all the small animal organisms and also carrion, which the armoured catfish feel on the ground with their barbels.

Even if the water looks clear it can be contaminated. With bad values diseases or algae can appear in the aquarium. To maintain a healthy aquarium with conditions close to nature it is important to check and adapt the water values regularly. For each water analysis JBL provides water tests in the form of rapid tests or color change tests. These determine a certain value or several values in one go. With these water tests you can recognise algae problems and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. Why test? Silicon is one of the most common elements in the world. As a result of the weathering of silicate rocks, silicon is washed into surface and ground water in the form of silicate. Depending on the composition of the rocks in a particular area, the mains water will contain varying amounts of dissolved silicate. The significance of silicon for aquariums and garden ponds is as a nutrient for diatoms, some aquatic plants, siliceous sponges and many other invertebrates. JBL Online Laboratory Regular monitoring for a healthy aquarium with conditions close to nature. Enter your water values into the JBL Online Laboratory and get an in-depth analysis of your values within seconds. Recommended silicate values: Freshwater aquarium (community aquarium): 0-2.0 mg/l Lake Malawi/Lake Tanganyika aquarium: the silicate content is not relevant here because grazing fish species like eating diatoms Plant aquarium with few fish (aquascaping): 0-2.0 mg/l Marine water Aquarium: 0-1.0 mg/l Pond: 0-2.0 mg/l

Rankin's dragon
