Cryptocoryne lutea also comes from Sri Lanka. Its leaf colouring is usually dark green and sometimes with a fine line pattern. As with most other species of Cryptocoryne, propagation is by runners. Just a few centimetres next to the actual plant, a new small shoot appears from the substrate. If you want to limit the spread, it is sufficient to simply remove these new shoots with the help of sharp scissors or a knife.

Like almost all Cryptocorynes from Sri Lanka, it grows well in harder water and is therefore ideally suited for cichlid aquaria.

With a growth height of approx. 10 cm (previous cultivation experience in the aquarium), it remains relatively small in size and can therefore be used well in the foreground, depending on the size of the tank.
