Damit Landschildkröten diesem natürlichen Verhalten auch im Terrarium nachgehen können, wurde dieses Spezialsubstrat in Zusammenarbeit mit namhaften Schildkrötenzüchtern und zoologischen Einrichtungen entwickelt.
Lucky Reptile Tortoise Bedding hält die Feuchtigkeit, bleibt dabei trittstabil, trotzdem locker und schimmelt nicht. Es ist nicht nur geruchsneutral, sondern bindet Gerüche aktiv. Durch seine weiche, faserreiche Struktur und den Verzicht auf Sand schadet es auch nicht, falls es mal versehentlich mit gefressen wird und kommt der gesunden Panzerentwicklung der Schildkröten zugute. Stumpfe, abgeriebene Panzer werden dadurch vermieden.
Durch seine luftige und lockere Struktur isoliert Tortoise Bedding und federt Temperaturschwankungen ab, wenn die Tiere vergraben sind. Zugesetzte natürliche Tonmineralien sorgen für eine gleichbleibende Substratfeuchte, weshalb es von Landschildkröten auch gerne als Eiablagesubstrat angenommen wird. Das Weichen bleibt blasser und die Federn am Schwanz werden gelb-grau gestreift.

Haltung:
Nymphensittiche leben in der Natur in grossen Kolonien. Deshalb sollten sie auch bei uns mindestens zu zweit in Zimmervolieren gehalten werden. Freilandhaltung ist mit einer Voliere mit Schutzhaus das ganze Jahr möglich. Ein Einzelvogel würde, auf sich alleine gestellt, verkümmern. Bei einem Einzelvogel kann der Mensch trotz intensiver Zuwendung, einen Artgenossen niemals ersetzen!Die Voliere sollte man an einen zugfreien Standort stellen.Damit Nymphensittiche sich wohl fühlen braucht man:

Eifutter und Keimfutter
Kräcker und Knabberstangen sind gesunde Leckerbissen, die dazu dienen, dass der Vogel sich sein Futter erarbeiten muss.
Futter, Wasser und Frischfutter muss täglich erneuert werden.
Zucht:
Die Elterntiere sollten mindestens 12 Monate alt sein, bevor man mit dem Züchten beginnt. In speziellen Nistkästen legen die Nymphensittiche im Abstand von 2 Tagen ca. 4-6 Eier. Nistmaterial ist nicht nötig, da sie die Eier direkt auf den Holzboden des Nistkastens legen. Nymphensittiche brüten das ganze Jahr über und ziehen den Nachwuchs fast immer erfolgreich auf. Besser ist es jedoch, die Brutzeit auf den Frühling oder Sommer zu legen. Die Jungen sind blind, nackt und völlig hilflos, wenn sie nach 21 Tage Brutzeit schlüpfen. Nach ca. 10 Tagen öffnen sich die Augen und auf dem Rücken beginnen die ersten Federn zu spriessen. Mit 30 Tagen sind die Nymphensittiche flügge. Trennen von den Elternvögel sollte man die Jungvögel frühestens ab einem Alter von 8 Wochen.
In der Schweizerischen Tierschutzgesetzgebung sind gesetzliche Vorschriften enthalten, welche die tiergerechte Haltung von und den Umgang mit Vögeln regeln.
Folgende Regelungen gelten für alle Vogelarten:
