Ist die Wasseraufnahmefähigkeit des Tons überschritten, kann das Wasser auch problemlos am Terrariumboden stehen bleiben. Solange die Höhe der mit Hydro Drain geschaffenen Drainageschicht nicht überschritten wird, wird eine Versumpfung des normalen Bodengrunds verhindert. Durch seine Wasserspeicherfähigkeiten erhöht Hydro Drain ausserdem die Luftfeuchtigkeit im Terrarium und ist praktisch um Pflanzen mit ausreichend Grundwasser zu versorgen. Wir empfehlen, in das Terrarium eine mindestens 3 cm hohe Schicht Hydro Drain einzubringen und diese mit unserem speziellen Hydro Fleece zu bedecken. Auf dieses wird dann der normale Bodengrund wie z.B. Terrarienhumus oder Jungle Bedding gegeben. Das Hydro Fleece verhindert, dass Erde zwischen das Tongranulat sickert, während das Wasser problemlos durchfliessen kann. Hydro Drain ist für die Verwendung mit Bodenheizungen geeignet.
