For safe loss-free release and fertilization of CO₂ into the aquarium and for the plants.
Not every material is suitable for conducting CO₂ gas because many plastics are suitable for air but have a permeability for CO₂ gas. This is because CO₂ has a different diffusion behavior than air. Therefore, air hoses are unsuitable for CO₂ systems. The plastic of the JBL PROFLORA CO₂ hoses is suitable for CO₂ and fits all common CO₂ systems.
Lay the hose connections so that they are as short as possible. The shorter the CO₂-carrying hoses, the faster the entire system will react when you increase or decrease the pressure at the fine needle valve. But even with short hoses, you will always have a delayed reaction of your settings. So please do not turn the fine needle valve of the pressure reducer uncontrollably, but adjust it slightly and wait a bit before changing the bubble count in the bubble counter.
- Application: Cut the hose to the correct length and insert it. Always keep hose length as short as possible
- CO2-resistant special hose, for all common CO2 systems in the colors black or transparent/white
- Loss-free transport of CO2 gas. Normal air hoses are NOT CO2 gas resistant!
- Scope of delivery: 1 CO2 special hose, length: 3 m, Ø 4/6 mm
If the hose hardens over time, it must be replaced.

Healthy aquariums with conditions close to natureThe right water values are dependent on the fish stock and the plants inside the aquarium. Even if the water looks clear it can be contaminated. With bad values diseases or algae can appear in the aquarium. To maintain a healthy aquarium with conditions close to nature it is important to check and adapt the water values regularly.
For each water analysis JBL provides water tests in the form of quick tests or colour change tests. These determine a certain value or several values in one go. With these water tests you can recognise algae problems and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc.
Why test? In addition to a sufficient CO2 supply, iron and trace elements are essential for water plants. Strongly growing aquatic plants permanently need iron and other trace elements, and these are only durable for a limited period during the coupling to so-called chelates, a common feature in modern fertiliser preparations (e.g. JBL Ferropol, JBL Fe +Microelements), so regular monitoring with the JBL Iron Test Fe is needed, along with repeated fertilisation if necessary. Pond owners should check their well water for iron before using it for their pond. Too high iron content can lead to problems in the pond.
