Even if the water looks clear it can be contaminated. With bad values diseases or algae can appear in the aquarium/pond. To maintain a healthy aquarium/pond with conditions close to nature it is important to check and adapt the water values regularly. For each water analysis JBL provides water tests in the form of quick tests or colour change tests. These determine a certain value or several values in one go. With these water tests you can recognise algae problems and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. Why test?The well-being of aquarium and pond dwellers and the growth of aquatic plants depend to a large extent on the O2 level being kept as constant as possible. Oxygen is the “elixir of life” for all animal organisms. All animals in the aquarium and pond need oxygen to breathe. But the “invisible helpers” in the aquarium and pond, the bacteria that break down pollutants, also depend on sufficient supplies of oxygen in order to be able to carry out their useful activities. In aquariums and ponds with little or no planting and in marine aquariums the oxygen content always needs to be kept at an adequate balance using technical equipment. The water absorbs oxygen through the water surface. The more the surface is moving the more oxygen is absorbed. In case of dying algae and during the use of many medications the oxygen content in the water needs to be increased.

Especially in the summer months, when high water temperatures reduce the oxygen content, or in winter when the ice cover is closed, oxygen deficiency can quickly occur. The JBL PondOxi set has been specially developed to reliably counteract these situations. At the heart of the set is a compact, energy-efficient air pump with an air output of around 200 liters per hour. It continuously supplies the pond with fresh air and thus supports the natural gas exchange in the water. The air stone supplied generates fine air bubbles that are evenly distributed in the pond and effectively increase the oxygen input. A particular advantage of the PondOxi set is the floating body with integrated hose guide. This allows the depth of the diffuser to be flexibly adjusted - depending on the season and the requirements of your pond. In summer, the oxygen can be introduced into deeper layers of water, while in winter positioning it close to the surface helps to maintain a small ice-free hole. The installation is deliberately kept simple: The air pump is placed outside the pond in a dry, sheltered location and connected to the diffuser via the air hose. The float is then positioned in the pond and the device is switched on. Aeration starts immediately without any complicated settings. The regular supply of oxygen not only supports the well-being of the fish, but also promotes the biological decomposition of organic substances. Foul spots at the bottom of the pond can be reduced and the water quality stabilized in the long term.
