JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements - Plant fertiliser
JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements - 3-component plant fertiliser for aquascaping
Supplementary supply for plants: Supplementary fertiliser with 3 components (N = nitrogen; P = phosphorus; K = potassium) for aquascaping aquariums
Dosage depends on illuminance, CO2 addition and consumption.
Vital plant growth, prevents deficiency symptoms: Contains nitrogen as nitrate, phosphorus as phosphate, potassium and magnesium to specifically increase the values
Iron and trace elements should be added separately. Check with JBL nitrate, phosphate sensitive and potassium test
- for all aquariums with few animals, e.g. nano- and aquascaping
- contains nitrogen (as nitrate), phosphorus (as phosphate) and potassium as well as magnesium for the targeted increase of these values
- In aquaria with a sufficient number of animals, the use of a basic fertiliser such as JBL Ferropol or JBL ProScape Fe +Microelements is preferable.
- contains a pump dispenser that can be screwed onto the bottle instead of the cap and dispenses 2 ml per pump stroke
Nitrogen in the form of oxygen compounds (NOx) or hydrogen compounds (amines – NH2) have decisive functions in the organism, e.g. in protein metabolism.
While nitrates and phosphates are often present in excess in aquariums with a high fish population and can trigger algae growth, nitrates are often too low in plant aquariums due to consumption by aquatic plants, thus limiting growth.
As the nitrate and phosphate content of most of the drinking waters used in aquariums varies greatly depending on the water supplier, it is advisable to determine the current phosphate and nitrate content of the water used with the JBL PO4 Test Set and JBL NO3 Test Set before dosing the JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements fertiliser.
JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements adds nitrogen and phosphorus to the aquarium water in the form of nitrate salts and water-soluble phosphate salts. This provides the aquatic plants with the necessary nitrogen supply. Potassium and magnesium are also added to the water.
The normal dosage is for a high-intensity aquarium with >= 1 W / l illuminance 5 ml / 100 litres of water, for aquariums with a lower amount of light the dosage is 2.5 ml/100 litres of water. The supply of carbon dioxide must also be taken into account.
The following table (image) shows the recommended values for fertilisation depending on the conditions of the aquarium.
As the actual consumption cannot be predicted exactly, we recommend regularly checking the nitrate and phosphate levels with the JBL NO3 Test Set or JBL PO4 Test Set, especially before the next top-up dose. If the measured phosphate and nitrate levels in the aquarium water are outside the range shown above, we recommend using the single component fertilisers JBL ProScape N Macroelements, JBL ProScape P Macroelements, JBL ProScape K Macroelements, JBL ProScape Mg Macroelements.
