Product information "JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements 3-component"

JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements - 3-component plant fertiliser for aquascaping

  • Additional care for plants: supplementary fertiliser with 3 components (N = nitrogen; P = phosphorus; K = potassium) for aquascaping aquariums
  • Dosing is dependent on intensity of illumination, CO2 supply and consumption.
  • Thriving plant growth, prevents deficiency symptoms: contains nitrogen as nitrate, phosphorus as phosphate, potassium and magnesium for a controlled and precise increase of the values
  • Iron and trace elements should be added separately. Check with JBL nitrate, phosphate sensitive and potassium tests

Nitrogen in the form of oxygen compounds (NOx) or hydrogen compounds (amines – NH2) have essential functions in an organism, such as in protein metabolism. Whereas it is more common to find an excess of nitrates and phosphates in aquariums with larger fish populations which, in turn, can lead to algae growth, nitrates are often in scarce supply in planted aquariums due to consumption by the aquatic plants. This limits growth in the tank. As the concentrations of nitrates and phosphates in the drinking waters usually used in aquariums vary considerably, depending on the water supplier, it is advisable to use JBL PO4 Test Set and JBL NO3 Test Set to determine the current phosphate concentration and nitrate concentration of the water before adding the JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements. JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements supplies the tank water with nitrogen and phosphorus in the form of nitrate salts and water-soluble phosphate salts. As a result, the aquatic plants obtain the supply of nitrogen they require. Potassium and magnesium are also added to the water at the same time.

The normal dosage is 5 ml /100 l of water for a very well-lit tank with >= 1 W / l of illumination and 2.5 ml/100 l of water for a tank that is not as well lit. The supply of carbon dioxide must also be considered. The following table shows recommended fertiliser concentrations according to the general conditions of the aquarium.

As actual precise consumption cannot be predicted, we recommend regularly checking the nitrate concentration and phosphate concentration with JBL NO3 Test Set or JBL PO4 Test Set, especially prior to each follow-up dose. If the measured phosphate levels and nitrate levels of the tank water are outside the above-mentioned range, it is advisable to use the single-component fertilisers, JBL ProScape N Macroelements, JBL ProScape P Macroelements, JBL ProScape K Macroelements and JBL ProScape Mg Macroelements.

JBL Nitrate Test NO3
JBL Nitrate Test NO3 - Quick test to determine the nitrate content in fresh and saltwater aquariums and pond Easy and reliable monitoring of the water values of aquariums and ponds Determines the ideal nitrate values to control the algae in freshwater and seawater Laboratory comparator system to compensate the inherent water colouring: fill plastic cuvette with sample water, add reagents to another cuvette, place both cuvettes in holder, read values on colour chart When to use: for setting up a new freshwater aquarium: once a week. For initial setup with marine water: once a week. In case of green algae problems 1 quick test, Nitrate Test NO3. Contents for approx. 50 tests, incl. 2 reagents, 2 glass vials with screw caps, syringe, dosing spoon, comparator block and colour scale. Refill reagents available separately Healthy aquarium/healthy pond with conditions close to natureThe right water values are dependent on the fish stock and the plants in the aquarium/pond. Even if the water looks clear it can be contaminated. With bad values diseases or algae can appear in the aquarium/pond. To maintain a healthy aquarium with conditions close to nature it is important to check and adapt the water values regularly. For each water analysis JBL provides water tests in the form of quick tests or colour change tests. These determine a certain value or several values in one go. With these water tests you can recognise algae problems and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. Why test?Nitrate is the end product of the mineralisation in the aquarium/pond. Even in relatively high concentrations it is non-toxic for fish, but has an adverse effect for plant growth and the well-being of many a fish species. Furthermore too high nitrate contents promote unwanted algae growth if phosphate is present in the water as well as nitrate.

JBL ProScape P Macroelements
JBL ProScape P Macroelements - Phosphorus plant fertiliser for aquascaping Additional care for plants: supplementary phosphorus fertiliser for aquascaping aquariums Use for high power light aquarium: 2 ml/100 l, for weakly lighted aquariums: 1 ml/100 l Thriving plant growth, prevents phosphorus deficiency: contains additional plant-available potassium Checking of dosage with JBL phosphate test sensitive Healthy plant growth is based on the following three main pillars: A supply of light, a supply of CO2 and an adequate/optimal supply of mineral nutrients. The supply of nutrients is described by Liebig’s Law of the Minimum. According to this concept, the nutrient which is available in the minimum amount limits the growth of plants regardless of whether it is a microelement or a macroelement.  Microelements are trace elements which plants need in small amounts, whereas macroelements are used for growth in larger amounts. In a well-planted aquarium, both microelements and macroelements are consumed in large amounts. Particularly when the fish population is small, the microelements, as well as the macroelements of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium, quickly drop down to the minimum. The macroelements can easily be supplied by using JBL ProScape NPK Macroelements or by adding each of the individual components, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and magnesium, separately. If the latter procedure is selected, it is recommended to check the water values with the JBL Test Set each time. Phosphorus in the form of phosphates plays an essential role in all vital functions. For example, phosphates play a key role in over-all energy metabolism, as well as in the structure of the hereditary information of all organisms. Whereas it is more common to find an excess of phosphates in aquariums with larger fish populations which, in turn, can lead to algae growth, phosphates are often in scarce supply in planted aquariums due to consumption by the aquatic plants. This limits growth in the tank. As the concentrations of phosphates in the drinking waters usually used in aquariums vary considerably, depending on the water supplier, it is advisable to use JBL PO4 Test Set sensitive to determine the current phosphate concentration of the water used before adding the JBL ProScape P Macroelements fertiliser.JBL ProScape P Macroelements supplies tank water with phosphorous in the form of water-soluble phosphates. As a result, the aquatic plants obtain the supply of phosphate they require. Potassium is also added to the water at the same time. Dennerle Scaper's Green fertiliser
Liter : 100ml
Optimum combination of active ingredients for sophisticated plant aquariums With all the important nutrients and trace elements With long-lasting effects thanks to multiple stabilised nutrients For rich, green leaves and intense, brilliant colours Scaper's Green is a real high-performance fertiliser and has been developed especially for aquascaping aquariums and sophisticated plant aquariums, i.e. aquariums with high nutrient requirements due to: dense planting many fast-growing species high light levels (> 1 watt per litre of aquarium water) CO2-fertilisation 30-50% partial water change per week few fish, if any, but rather shrimp and snails. Scaper's Green stands out in particular due to its high nutrient concentrations and fast nutrient availability. The nutrient proportions have been chosen so that all micronutrients are taken up by the plants in roughly equal proportions. This means that even with long-term, regular application there is no harmful accumulation of individual nutrients. A deficiency of micronutrients can be avoided with appropriate dosage and application of Scaper's Green. Like all Dennerle liquid fertilisers, Scaper's Green is very stable, which means it has lasting, stable effects. In other fertilisers, the active substances break down after a short period of time, which can be recognised as a dark brown discolouration, and lose their effects.

Dennerle Dosator
Continuous fertilisation - like in nature! Continuous, consistent supply of nutrients like in nature Consistent, balanced plant growth Prevents algae formation by reducing the level of nutrients Optimum fertilisation in the simplest way Safe operation as there are no moving parts and it uses no electricity (unlike dosing pump) Considerably better value for money than a dosing pump Made from high-quality, durable plastic Designed and made in Germany Aquarium plants need a regular supply of nutrients for strong, healthy growth. Aquaria are usually fertilised on a weekly schedule, which means that larger quantities of fertiliser are added at regular intervals. With a Dosator, your aquarium plants are fertilised as in nature, in that they are given a small quantity of nutrients on an ongoing basis. The Dosator is specially designed for the Dennerle fertilisers V30 Complete and S7 VitaMix.V30 is dispensed automatically over 4 weeks; S7 over the space of 1 week. AN INNOVATION FROM DENNERLE The Dennerle Dosator made from high-quality plastic works according to the principle of osmosis. Water from the aquarium "seeps" through the semi-permeable special membrane into the reservoir, pushing the nutrient solution drop-by-drop via the riser into the aquarium. This has two effects: firstly the aquarium gets the amount of fertiliser it needs, and secondly: the Dosator becomes a "tank indicator": as the water enters bit by bit and pushes the fertiliser into the aquarium, the fertiliser-water mixture in the Dosator becomes increasingly clear. When the contents of the dispenser lose their colour (S7 orange, V30 yellowy-green) you know it is time to fertilise. Aquarium plants benefit from the constant, even supply of nutrients like in nature. This ensures healthy, even plant growth and allows the aquarium to shine with magnificent, rich green splendour. The disadvantages of an excessively high nutrient concentration caused by bursts of fertiliser are a thing of the past. And the best thing: The overall lower nutrient level and the need-based supply of nutrients to the plants is extremely effective in preventing algae growth. The Dosator has been developed especially for use with V30 Complete and S7 VitaMix as part of the Dennerle fertiliser system:V30 is automatically dispensed over 4 weeks, S7 over 1 week (2 Dosators are needed for this). The innovative fertiliser dispenser, made from high-quality, durable plastic, can be used to supply aquaria from 50 to 300 litres. The Dosator is ideally suited to use with V30 as an all-purpose fertiliser and ensures even, drop-by-drop fertiliser addition over the course of a month. As the Dosator works purely on the principle of osmosis and does not have any moving parts or require batteries or a power supply (like a dosage pump/fertiliser dispenser), it operates very safely and economically. It also offers considerable advantages compared with a classic daily fertiliser, as the device only needs to be refilled once a week (S7) or once a month (V30).

JBL ProScape Fe+ Microelements - Basic plant fertiliser
Liter : 250ml
JBL ProScape Fe+ Microelements - Basic plant fertiliser for aquascaping Primary care for plants: basic fertiliser for aquascaping aquariums Dosing is dependent on the intensity of the lighting, CO2 supply and consumption Healthy plant growth, prevents deficiency symptoms: with iron and a lot of other trace elements Add nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium separately. Check with iron, potassium and magnesium tests Healthy plant growth is based on the following three main pillars: A supply of light, a supply of CO2 and an adequate/optimal supply of mineral nutrients. JBL ProScape Fe +Microelements, which contains all of the necessary trace elements in a finely balanced formulation, is ideally suited for the basic supply of microelements. Trace elements play an essential role in all vital functions. For example, iron is required to synthesise the green leaf pigment, chlorophyll; cobalt, copper, manganese and zinc are so-called Co factors of proteins, without which proteins would not be able to carry out their respective functions, and boron plays an important role in the regulation of calcium metabolism and sugar transport within the plant. The concentrations of these micro trace elements in the drinking waters usually used in aquariums vary considerably, depending on the water supplier. However, drinking water generally tends to have low concentrations of these minerals. It is advisable to determine the current potassium concentration of the water with the JBL Fe Test Set in order to find the right dosage of the JBL ProScape Fe +Microelements fertiliser. Here, iron can be used as a summary indicator for the other trace elements. Nowadays, iron concentration can be determined with sufficient precision by using standard aquatic tests, so that the result can be used to check the supply of microelements.JBL ProScape Fe +Microelements supplies the tank water with all of the necessary trace elements, while also furnishing the required macroelements, potassium and magnesium. The normal dosage is 10 ml/100 l of water for a very well-lit tank with >= 1 W/l of illumination and 5 ml/100 l of water for a tank that is not as well lit. The supply of carbon dioxide must also be considered. The following table shows recommended fertiliser concentrations according to the general conditions of the aquarium. As actual precise consumption cannot be predicted, we recommend regularly checking the iron level with the JBL Fe Test Set, especially prior to each follow-up dose.

In plants, for example, potassium is directly involved in stomatal regulation. In addition, potassium carries out important functions in the regulation of enzyme activities in the cells. Potassium is the third most important element of the macroelements taken up by plants. These are able to take up more potassium than they actually need and store it in the tissue. In nature, there are unlimited amounts of potassium available. In tanks which emphasise plants, though, potassium very quickly drops down to the minimum, so that it becomes a limiting factor for plant growth. The concentrations of potassium in the drinking waters usually used in aquariums vary considerably, depending on the water supplier. However, drinking water generally tends to have low potassium levels, so that it is usually far below the recommended 10-30 mg/l. It is advisable to determine the current potassium concentration of the water with the JBL K Test Set in order to find the right dosage of the JBL ProScape K Macroelements fertiliser.JBL ProScape K Macroelements supplies tank water with potassium in the form of water-soluble potassium salts.
