Ihre Blätter sind mit 3-6 cm breiter als bei der ´amazonicus´ und die Wuchshöhe bis zu 60 cm lässt diese Art noch dominanter erscheinen. Ältere Büsche mit z. T. mehr als 50 Blättern sind ein imposanter Blickfang. Der Bodengrund muss aber mindestens 10 cm hoch sein, damit das Wurzelwerk sich entsprechend entfalten kann. In Kombination mit Helanthium-Arten (Zwergechinodorus) gelingen wunderschöne Südamerika-Unterwasserlandschaften.
