The number of plants needed in an aquarium depends on several factors, including the size of the aquarium, the types of plants, the type of fish and the desired aesthetics. Plants have an important role to play in the aquarium by producing oxygen, breaking down pollutants, providing shelter for fish and contributing to the overall health of the ecosystem.

A rule of thumb is that a well-planted aquarium should have about 50-70% of its bottom area covered with plants. This not only creates an attractive environment, but also provides hiding places and habitat for fish. When buying a new aquarium, we therefore recommend buying one pot plants for every 10 litres of aquarium water. This means that you require six pots for 60 litres or 20 pots of aquarium plants for 200 litres.
