Auf den ersten Blick sieht sie der Helanthium tenellum (alter Name: Echinodorus tenellus ) sehr ähnlich und ist leicht zu verwechseln. Der Unterschied liegt in der Blattfarbe und Blattbreite, auch die Wuchshöhe scheint etwas geringer zu sein. Wir haben dieser Pflanze den Namen ´Broad Leaf´ gegeben aufgrund der bis zu 2,5mm breiten Blattspreiten. Die Blattfarbe bleibt leuchtend mittelgrün und kann daher gut zu farbigen Pflanzen wie z.b Hygrophila pinnatifida kombiniert werden. Die Pflegeansprüche sind mit der normalen Helanthium tenellum vergleichbar. Die Rasenbildung wird auch hier durch einen kräftigen Rückschnitt gefördert.
