Sogar in 2m Wassertiefe waren noch üppige Bestände im kristallklaren Wasser anzutreffen. Die Heteranthera ist eine sehr kontrastreiche Pflanze für den Mittel –bis Hintergrund und wirkt besonders gut in Kombination mit farbigen Pflanzen wie z.B. Rotala rotundifolia. All you need to pay attention to is regular pruning using sharp scissors with curved blades. Frequent pruning will help Staurogyne Repens become denser and grow. After pruning, it spreads and forms new stems with leaves. Therefore, it can also be used to create an interesting foreground. It grows in both hard and soft water with pH between 5.5 and 7.5. It does not require complicated care. Frequent pruning and good growing conditions will ensure beautiful, dense plants. Auf den ersten Blick sieht sie der Helanthium tenellum (alter Name: Echinodorus tenellus ) sehr ähnlich und ist leicht zu verwechseln. Der Unterschied liegt in der Blattfarbe und Blattbreite, auch die Wuchshöhe scheint etwas geringer zu sein. Wir haben dieser Pflanze den Namen ´Broad Leaf´ gegeben aufgrund der bis zu 2,5mm breiten Blattspreiten. Die Blattfarbe bleibt leuchtend mittelgrün und kann daher gut zu farbigen Pflanzen wie z.b Hygrophila pinnatifida kombiniert werden. Die Pflegeansprüche sind mit der normalen Helanthium tenellum vergleichbar. Die Rasenbildung wird auch hier durch einen kräftigen Rückschnitt gefördert.
