FAQ
What is the difference between JBL StabiloPond Basis and JBL StabiloPond KH?
JBL StabiloPond Basis raises the total hardness and the carbonate hardness equally, JBL StabiloPond KH raises the total hardness to
carbonate hardness in a ratio of 1:2.
How and when do I dose JBL StabiloPond KH?
JBL StabiloPond KH is dosed as follows:
In the evening before algae treatments so that sufficient buffer capacity is available to stabilise the pH value.
After heavy rainfall (summer thunderstorm), as in addition to the dilution effect caused by the rain, the carbonate hardness can also be reduced more strongly (keyword: acid rain).
For initial application or carbonate hardness 0, dose 200g / 1,000 l pond water. For subsequent applications, 100g / 1,000 l pond water is sufficient.
The powder is sprinkled into the pond. Do not dissolve in water
beforehand, as this leads to foaming and reduces the stabilising effect
on the pond water.
I dosed JBL StabiloPond KH in the evening and JBL Algo Pond Forte in the morning, as described in the instructions. However, I could not detect any effect.
Dosing JBL StabiloPond KH in the evening and JBL Algo Pond Forte in the morning is the correct approach. However, depending on the pond’s conditions, the active ingredient can take 2–5 days until algae development visibly decreases. This cannot happen in just a few hours. JBL AlgoPond Forte can be redosed after 4–6 days if required; in some cases, this is useful in the case of very severe algae development.
