Bogwood in 5 sizes
Has been cleaned, soaked and packed wet and steam-sterilised. Treated with a little salt for disinfection. The bogwood root is a classic aquarium decoration. The bogwood root is only used in freshwater aquariums. The bogwood does not float in water and is therefore ideal for freshwater aquariums. The root corresponds to the natural instinct of the fish.
- This elaborate processing of the roots ensures that the root sinks into the water as soon as it is inserted, but thorough soaking is still necessary before use in the aquarium to remove salt residues
- The roots remain fresh and moist in the packaging for years

The measuring range from pH 6.0 to 7.6 is particularly suitable for community aquariums, planted aquariums and aquascapes where a slightly acidic to neutral pH value needs to be maintained.
A stable pH value is important for the well-being of fish, shrimps and plants. As many dissolved substances in the water are affected by the pH value, significant fluctuations should be avoided. The JBL test helps to detect changes at an early stage and to check water parameters regularly.
Thanks to the laboratory comparator system, any natural colouration of the aquarium water is compensated for. To do this, one cuvette is filled with aquarium water and reagent, whilst a second cuvette serves as a control sample. The value is then read off the colour scale. Add the reagent to one cuvette, place both cuvettes in the comparator block and compare the colour with the colour chart provided. After the measurement, the cuvettes and syringe should be rinsed thoroughly with clean water.When setting up a new aquarium, JBL recommends measuring the pH value daily during the first week. After that, a check once a week is usually sufficient, provided no particular problems or significant changes occur in the aquarium.Zoo Roco TipThe pH value should always be considered alongside other water parameters such as KH, GH, nitrite and nitrate. Regular monitoring is particularly advisable when using CO₂ fertilisation, carrying out water changes or keeping sensitive fish and shrimp species.
