NEKTON-Rep-Calcium-Pur+ contains no vitamin D3 and is specially developed for animals that are supplied with sufficient UVB light or free-living animals with sufficient sun exposure (approx. 10 hours). These can produce their own vitamin D and therefore do not need an extra proportion of vitamin D3 in the product.Reptiles and amphibians need less food than mammals because they have a relatively low energy requirement. Vitamin precursors that are ingested with food (these are mainly found in the muscle and fatty tissue of feeder animals and plants) are converted in the skin under the influence of sunlight (or UVB radiation) and warmth into a precursor of vitamin D3 and finally in the kidney tissue into the active form of vitamin D3. Remove heavily soiled substrate spot-wise daily. Replace the substrate completely as needed.
