Lucky Reptile Tortoise Bedding retains moisture, remains firm underfoot yet loose, and does not go mouldy. It is not only odourless but actively absorbs odours. Thanks to its soft, fibre-rich structure and the absence of sand, it is harmless if accidentally ingested and promotes healthy shell development in tortoises. This helps prevent dull, worn shells. Thanks to its airy and loose structure, Tortoise Bedding insulates and cushions temperature fluctuations when the animals are buried. Added natural clay minerals ensure a constant substrate moisture level, which is why tortoises like to use it as an egg-laying substrate. For the same reasons, it is an excellent hibernation substrate - not only in outdoor terrariums! The pH value has been specially adjusted to the needs of tortoises and no fertilisers or other chemical additives have been added. It is therefore even suitable as a natural breeding substrate and can be composted without any problems.
