Nest eggs made of plastic

With the plastic nest eggs you replace the laid eggs of the birds. Thus, the female bird does not lay eggs continuously.

In the breeding of canaries the laid eggs are replaced by nest eggs. The correct eggs are best placed in a can on the side (room temperature). Once the female does no longer lay eggs, all "real" eggs can be put back into the nest. Then the eggs are incubated and all the birds are hatched at the same time and thus all have the same chance regarding feeding.
