NEKTON-Biotic-Dog is a probiotic dietary supplement to stabilize the physiological digestion in dogs. The lactic acid contained in the feed produces bacteria that occur naturally in the intestinal wall of dogs and promotes healthy digestion of food. Natural mannan-oligosaccharides and fructans promote a positive composition of the intestinal flora through their prebiotic effect. Valuable herbal ingredients such as rice starch and dandelion facilitate digestion in a gentle way and help to calm the intestines.

NEKTON-Biotic-Dog helps to stabilise the intestinal flora using purely natural active ingredients. To prevent over-acidification in the intestines, which encourages the growth of harmful bacteria in the gut, the rice starch contained increases the pH level, creating a more favourable environment for beneficial bacteria, which includes Enterococcus faecium. These bacteria contained in NEKTON-Biotic-Dog are part of the natural intestinal flora of humans and dogs and support their regeneration. Rice starch is also 100 % utilised in the dog's intestine, is rich in energy and does not put any additional strain on the organism.

As important food for beneficial intestinal bacteria (prebiotics), indigestible carbohydrates from the cell wall of yeast (mannan-oligosaccharides), as well as from vegetable by-products (fructans) are contained in NEKTON-Biotic-Dog. The cell walls of yeast also provide so-called beta-glucans, which bind harmful substances in the intestine, which are then excreted.

Another prebiotic substance is inulin, which is found in greater amounts in dandelion. Dandelion calms the intestines and has a choleretic and diuretic effect, as well as stimulating the appetite. The sesquiterpene lactones and the high potassium content of the plant are responsible for the diuretic effect. Furthermore, dandelion has a stimulating effect on the metabolism and has an anti-inflammatory (antiphlogistic) and antispasmodic (spasmolytic) effect.

NEKTON-Biotic-Dog also contains a moderate amount of brewer's yeast, which provides the body with numerous micronutrients such as various B vitamins. This counteracts a possible deficit of these nutrients caused by diarrhoea, for example. NEKTON-Biotic-Dog naturally contains no sugar or preservatives and is gluten-free.
