It was definitely worth the wait!

Top-notch! I did have to wait quite a long time for the delivery, as mentioned, but the little creatures did a brilliant job and my pond was crystal clear again within just a week. It was a worthwhile and affordable investment!

With all essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients Stimulates the hunting instinct Promotes vitality Red mosquito larvae are very popular with ornamental fish lovers as a high-quality source of live food, as they provide a rich source of protein and important nutrients. These larvae come from the midge species Chironomus plumosus and are typically reddish-brown or orange in color. Instructions for feeding live food:It is important to wash live food before feeding to remove potential contaminants, bacteria and polluted water and to protect the health of ornamental fish. Here is a guide to washing live food:Place the live food in a strainer or colander and rinse thoroughly. This is best done with aquarium water or non-carbonated mineral water. Now pour the live food into a clean container and cover it with a little aquarium water. Leave the food to stand for 5-10 minutes. Now pour off the waterThe food can now be given to the fish. Even with the greatest care, it can happen that food animals die due to temperature fluctuations or incalculable events during transportation. We accept no liability for this.

Catappa Leaves XL - 10 pieces
Catappa Leaves XL – natural sea almond tree leaves for aquariums and terrariumsCatappa Leaves XL are large, dried leaves of the sea almond tree and are particularly popular in aquariums with tropical fish, shrimp and blackwater species. In water, the leaves release natural tannins and humic substances slowly, which may cause the aquarium water to take on a slightly yellowish to brownish tint. This natural colouring diffuses the light and mimics the habitat of many tropical fish species. As the leaves slowly decompose, they create valuable grazing areas for shrimp, catfish and other aquarium inhabitants. At the same time, the large leaves provide natural cover and places of refuge. Catappa leaves can also be used decoratively in terrariums and serve as hiding places for small animals or as ground decoration. Catappa leaves are a popular natural product for natural-looking aquariums, blackwater setups and biotope tanks. When stored dry, they have a very long shelf life and are easy to use.Advantages at a glanceLarge Catappa leaves with a length of 21–40 cmRelease natural tannins and humic substancesSupport a natural blackwater appearanceCan promote the well-being of fishProvide grazing areas for shrimp and catfishAlso suitable as decoration and hiding place in the terrarium100 % natural product UsageThe leaves can be placed directly into the aquarium. They soak up water and sink to the bottom after some time. There they release their natural substances over several weeks. After about two to three weeks, a new leaf can be added if needed. The old leaves can remain in the aquarium, as they are readily grazed on by shrimp and other animals.Product detailsSize: approx. 21–40 cmContents: 10 piecesMaterial: dried leaves of the sea almond tree, Terminalia catappaSuitable for: freshwater aquariums, blackwater tanks, shrimp aquariums and terrariumsZoo Roco Tip: Catappa Leaves XL can be ideally combined with alder cones, lotus pods, cholla wood or coconut shells. Tropical 3-Algae Flakes
Contents: 12 g
Tropical 3-Algae Flakes - Fine, algae-rich flake food Tropical 3-Algae Flakes serve as a daily food for herbivorous freshwater and marine fish whose diet consists of algae, as well as a supplementary food for omnivorous fish. 3-ALGAE FLAKES contains three types of algae: Chlorella (Chlorella vulgaris), Ascophyllum nodosum and Laminaria digitata, also known as kelp or seaweed. Unsaturated fatty acids, protein (rich in amino acids) and vitamins from chlorella together with macronutrients and trace elements from kelp algae (including iodine, chromium, selenium and iron) ensure excellent condition, intensive growth and vitality for the fish. Regular feeding with 3-ALGAE FLAKES provides your fish with high levels of chlorophyll – a green pigment from chlorella, which is a concentrated source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll inhibits the development of unwanted bacteria in the digestive tract and thus prevents infections. Together with zeolite, it promotes the elimination of toxins from the digestive tract of the fish. Aloe extract improves immunity and stimulates the bacterial flora in the gastrointestinal tract. Due to its strengthening properties, this food is recommended for fish that are in a quarantine or recovery phase, as well as for fish that are getting used to new living conditions. This food is also available in other forms: 3-Algae Granules, 3-Algae Tablets A, 3-Algae Tablets BAlso try: Super Spirulina Forte Complete food for ornamental fish Composition:Cereals, algae 12%, vegetable by-products (contains aloe vera 2%), vegetable protein extracts, fish and fish by-products, molluscs and crustaceans, yeasts, oils and fats, minerals (contains zeolite 1%). Pogostemon Erectus (Indian star plant)
Pogostemon erectusPogostemon Erectus is a green-stemmed aquarium plant. It looks especially attractive when planted in compact groups, in the background.Difficult to grow: moderately demanding Light requirements: medium CO₂ requirements: medium Height of the adult plant: up to 40 cm Growth rate: moderate Temperature: 20-28°C Aquarium location: Foreground, background Origin: Asia - India Cup diameter 6 cm Pogostemon Erectus, or erect chard, is a decorative, light green stem plant that resembles a mini-conifer in its growth. It belongs to the light family. It is an ideal background plant. It is best planted in groups, as it forms dense clumps that provide a background for other aquarium species. Pogostemon likes to grow above the water surface. Pogostemon grows between 15 - 30 cm tall, but can reach up to 40 cm under favorable conditions. The width of a single stem is usually not more than 3 cm. The plant needs quite a lot of light, otherwise there are no major care requirements. Due to the moderate growth rate, pruning is rather rare. It tolerates water with a pH of 5.5-8 and water hardness of 1-20° dH. Pogostemon can be propagated by planting cut tips in the substrate. Pruning is recommended to maintain a compact structure. This variety is not difficult to grow as long as it receives sufficient light (at least 0.5 W/l). CO₂ fertilization is advisable.Planting: The plant must be removed from the cup and thoroughly rinsed of gel under running water. This is best done by placing the plant in a container of lukewarm water. Most of the gel will then fall off by itself. Divide the contents of the cup into 1-2 cm lumps and then place them at a small distance on the selected items..

Shrimps, such as Amano shrimps or tiger shrimps, also occasionally appreciate a shiny worm as food. These worms not only resemble earthworms externally, but are also closely related to them. Due to their dark color, they are also known as blackworms or are occasionally found in pots of aquatic plants, for example from Dennerle (which is why they are sometimes called Dennerle worms). Shiny worms are rich in proteins and fats, but do not contain much fiber.Storage temperature: 5-15 °C Shelf life approx. 21 days Live food is the most natural way of feeding ornamental fish. Duckweed portion
Duckweed / Duckweed PortionDuckweed (Lemna minor L) Floating plant suitable for the aquarium also suitable for garden ponds and biotopes Duckweed – a natural floating plant for aquariums, ponds and feed productionDuckweed, also known as water lettuce, is a hardy, fast-growing floating plant suitable for freshwater aquariums, ponds and small rearing tanks. The small, green plants float freely on the water’s surface, reproduce very rapidly under favourable conditions and offer numerous benefits: They remove excess nutrients from the water, provide shade, improve the natural balance and are readily eaten by shrimp, snails, goldfish, ducks and other animals.Breeding and propagationCultivating duckweed is very simple. The plants are placed directly on the water’s surface and require no planting, no substrate and no CO₂ system. With sufficient light, calm water and enough nutrients, they reproduce by division. Under good conditions, the population can increase significantly within a few days. A small container, a nano-aquarium or a plastic tub is sufficient for targeted cultivation. We recommend at least 5 to 10 litres of water, for a more stable and productive culture 20 litres or more. The water should be as still as possible, as duckweed does not tolerate strong currents, splashing water or leaves that are permanently submerged.Optimal conditionsDuckweed is highly adaptable and grows reliably in many freshwater environments. An ideal water temperature of around 18 to 28 °C. Temperatures of approximately 10 to 30 °C are generally tolerated, though growth slows significantly in cooler conditions. The water should be nutrient-rich, for example through the presence of fish, prawns, snails or very sparing use of liquid fertiliser. A pH value in the slightly acidic to slightly alkaline range is suitable; approximately 5.5 to 8.0 is not a problem for most cultures. Water hardness usually plays only a minor role. Above all, sufficient light and a calm water surface are important. A lighting duration of around 8 to 12 hours a day promotes vigorous, green growth.Care instructionsSince duckweed grows very quickly, the population should be thinned out regularly. A completely closed plant canopy can block too much light from reaching other aquarium plants and restrict gas exchange at the water’s surface. You should therefore remove some of the plants using a fine-mesh net or spoon if necessary. To maintain a healthy culture, it is advisable to carry out partial water changes regularly and to remove dead or yellowing plants. In aquariums with strong surface movement, a filter outlet directly at the water’s surface or very nutrient-poor water, growth may be slower.Benefits at a glanceDuckweed is easy to care for, fast-growing and versatile. They help break down nutrients, provide shelter for young fish, naturally shade the aquarium and are ideal as a supplementary food for many aquatic animals. This makes them ideal for aquarists, pond owners and anyone wishing to create a simple, natural plant culture. The delivery consists of a starter batch of live duckweed for further propagation. Please note: Duckweed can spread very rapidly and should not be released into natural water bodies.
