Around 1000 years ago in China, the beautiful colors were bred out of crucian carp (cold-water fish) and the goldfish was created, which was then even given its own scientific name (Carassius auratus). Goldfish and related breeding forms have no stomach and are omnivores that can develop a healthy appetite for aquatic plants. JBL PRONOVO RED INSECT goldfish food contains a high proportion of plant-based ingredients that reduce the appetite for aquatic plants. Insects and insect larvae form an important part of the diet alongside plants. This has also been taken into account in the JBL PRONOVO food with the addition of soldier fly larvae.
Why a special goldfish food?
Goldfish are descended from crucian carp, which originate from cooler waters.
