The food blocks in JBL PRONOVO BEL HOLIDAY and WEEKEND consist of a natural calcium compound that slowly dissolves when the fish "nibble" on it. Bottom-dwelling fish such as armored catfish or loaches also quickly smell the food it contains and will then also feed themselves as required. Be careful if you ask your neighbors to feed your fish! Most people mean too well and overfeed massively. Large quantities of food then lie uneaten on the bottom of the aquarium and spoil. This leads to serious problems with oxygen levels and toxic nitrite build-up. A vacation feeder or an automatic feeder (or aquarists as neighbors) are the better way.

JBL offers water tests in the form of rapid tests or color change tests for every water analysis. These determine a specific value or several values simultaneously. With these water tests, algae problems can be detected and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. can be determined. Why test:Nitrite is produced when bacteria break down protein and ammonium. It is normally further processed into non-toxic nitrate. Nitrite (NO2) should not be measurable in aquarium and pond water. If nitrite is nevertheless measurable, the bacterial degradation process is disturbed and from a concentration of 0.4 mg/l it becomes dangerous or even fatal for fish, as nitrite blocks the oxygen transport in the blood of the animals.
