Back Zoo Nature Bedding is made from the bark of the coconut and is an extremely ecological floor covering. It is 100% natural, biodegradable and therefore good for the environment.
Back Zoo Nature Bedding is in many ways the best choice when it comes to floor coverings for birds and rodents (less suitable for rats). Among other things, it retains moisture without becoming moldy. This also makes it ideal for outdoor enclosures.
Birds generally require a good humidity level of 50 to 60 % or more. In many households, the humidity (mainly in winter) is not much higher than 30%. By choosing Back Zoo Nature Bedding as a ground cover and moistening it, the humidity is increased significantly.
Back Zoo Nature Bedding also has the advantage that birds and rodents can burrow in it without the litter ending up next to the cage. It is much more compact than sand or beech shavings, so that it is not whirled up/carried away so quickly. This is because birds and rodents also like to dig.
A large proportion of the food they eat in their natural habitat is also found on the ground. This therefore also stimulates natural behavior. The use of sand can affect the bird's eyes/respiratory tract and beech shavings can easily become moldy, which is also harmful to the bird.
