For terrariums:

An ideal retreat for lizards, snakes or frogs. But invertebrates such as tarantulas or millipedes also like to retreat into the cave. Filled with sphagnum moss, the cave can also be used as a wet box.

In the aquarium:

The cave is often used by antenna catfish or other suckermouth catfish as a spawning site. The large cocoon is also suitable for axolotls as it has no sharp points.

For small rodents:

The cocoon can be used as a sleeping place, sand bath or as a toilet in the enclosure for dwarf hamsters, golden hamsters, colored mice, gerbils or degus.
As the clay cools, it is also a good place to retreat to in summer if it gets too warm.
