Cellulose supports digestion and can promote intestinal health.

Cellulose is a natural dietary fiber that comes from the cell walls of plants. Dietary fiber is a type of fiber and is absorbed by dogs and cats through their food. The fiber content in the food can be increased by adding cellulose. Cellulose is indigestible and not water-soluble, but can bind large amounts of water.

Dietary fiber promotes natural intestinal movement and thus contributes to normal gastrointestinal function. Cellulose can also reduce the digestibility of carbohydrates and thus support the maintenance of a normal body weight. It can be helpful if the consistency of faeces fluctuates or if they are too soft.

Feeding recommendation

Allow the powder to swell with sufficient water and then mix into the food. When feeding for the first time, slowly accustom the animal to the cellulose: Start with 10 % of the daily dose and increase within a week. Fresh drinking water should be available at all times.
