Das Spray basiert auf dem Wirkstoff Geraniol, gewonnen aus den Blättern des Palmarosa-Geraniumgrases, und kann direkt auf Textilien und andere Oberflächen aufgetragen werden, wo die Tiere sich aufhalten. Das Spray zerstört den Chitinpanzer der Insekten und blockiert deren Atemwege, was zu einem Austrocknen und Absterben der Parasiten führt. Es ist besonders dafür geeignet, die Umgebung von Haustieren wie Schlafplätze und Ruhezonen zu behandeln, und es kann prophylaktisch eingesetzt werden, um einem Befall vorzubeugen. Das insektoVet Umgebungsspray ist auch für die Anwendung in der Nähe von Jungtieren ab vier Monaten sicher.
