1) What exactly does ZeroMOUSE 2.0 do?
ZeroMOUSE 2.0 adds prey detection to your existing microchip-/RFID cat flap. If prey is detected (e.g. mouse or bird), access can be automatically blocked to keep the prey outside.

2) Is this compatible with my cat flap?
ZeroMOUSE 2.0 is designed as an accessory for many microchip-/RFID cat flaps. Whether it fits your model depends on the type of flap and the installation situation. Check the compatibility list or the manufacturer’s/shop’s information for your flap model before purchasing.

3) Do I need to buy a new cat flap?
No. ZeroMOUSE 2.0 is designed as an upgrade so you can continue to use your existing microchip-controlled flap.

4) Does the detection work at night too?

11) Does the device require maintenance?
A little: keep the lens/area clean, check the fit of the attachment and, if necessary, keep the app/software up to date (if available).

12) What if prey still comes into the house?
No system is perfect in every situation. Optimise the installation (height, alignment, distance), keep the area clean and check the settings. In some households, additional “prey training” (e.g. playtimes, feeding times, activities) can help reduce hunting activity.

Installation is this easy:

Important in advance: Install ZeroMOUSE in your cat flap before setting up the app. When setting up, make sure there is nothing in the tunnel of the cat flap.

1. Remove your existing microchip cat flap.

2. Feed the USB-C cable through the resulting hole and leave enough length for ZeroMOUSE (aim for approx. 6 cm beyond the inner edge).

3. Reinstall the cat flap. Clean the inside of the tunnel carefully and dry it completely.

4. Plug the USB-C cable into your ZeroMOUSE (do not connect the power supply yet).

5. Remove the protective film from the adhesive pads on the underside. Position ZeroMOUSE centrally on the tunnel floor so that it contacts the rear frame and press it down firmly.

6. Make sure there is nothing in the tunnel (not even your hand).

7. Install the ZeroMOUSE app on your smartphone, create your profile and grant Bluetooth permission.

8. Now connect the power supply to ZeroMOUSE 2.0 and wait for the device to start up and setup to complete. This may take a few minutes. Setup is complete when the device flashes green steadily and continuously.

9. Add ZeroMOUSE in the app and wait for the registration process to complete.

It does exactly what it promises! Easy to install and operate via the app. Very good picture quality. No problems whatsoever for the cats.

Great, with just one minor drawback.

The food detection feature is worth 5 stars to me, but I’ve noticed that the little door is now permanently closed and the cats have to push against it several times with their heads to open it. Unfortunately, my cats (the males) are a bit sensitive to this. I hope they’ll get used to it. Otherwise, I’m very happy with the product.
