Easy Start is a filter starter. The Easy Starter helps the aquarium to clean the water quickly and to get more stable values so that it is suitable for fish.
Easy Start is a combination of highly active bacteria cultures. This bacterial carrier provides for an accelerated multiplication of useful bacteria, so that the occurrence of e.g. poisonous nitrite can be avoided. It also counteracts the effects of harmful bacteria and purifies water from heavy metals and other chemical contaminants. The result is a healthy aquarium with vital, intensely colored fish.
Application:Shake well and add immediately.The turbidity of the water disappears after a few hours.Store in a cool and dry place after opening.

Healthy aquarium / healthy pond with near-natural conditionsThe correct water values in the aquarium/pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Even if the water looks clear, it may be contaminated. If the values are poor, diseases or algae can form in the aquarium/pond. For a healthy aquarium/pond with near-natural conditions, it is important to regularly check and adjust the water values.
JBL offers water tests in the form of rapid tests or color change tests for every water analysis. These determine a specific value or several values simultaneously. With these water tests, algae problems can be detected and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. can be determined.
Why test:Nitrite is produced when bacteria break down protein and ammonium. It is normally further processed into non-toxic nitrate. Nitrite (NO2) should not be measurable in aquarium and pond water. If nitrite is nevertheless measurable, the bacterial degradation process is disturbed and from a concentration of 0.4 mg/l it becomes dangerous or even fatal for fish, as nitrite blocks the oxygen transport in the blood of the animals. Water changes and good bacterial starters such as JBL Denitrol or JBL BactoPond can help.

Normally, these toxins are not a problem in a well-established aquarium. But if the water is changed too much or the aquarium is overfed, or if the aquarium is moved or started up, the nitrite content can very quickly become too high and toxic - JBL Detoxol is the quick emergency aid!

Ammonia and nitrite are toxic to fish. Normally, the biology and the filter should manage to keep the values within a problem-free range.
