In thinly planted aquariums the air pump supplies the necessary water circulation.In aquariums with dense planting the air pump provides the aquarium with oxygen at night, since the number of plants means the oxygen concentration can drop to a dangerous level. When disease is present in the aquarium the air pump increases the oxygen level in the water, an essential condition for many medications. Simple to connectConnect hose with air pump. Cut air hose and insert check valve. Cut the remaining hose to the desired length. Connect one end with check valve and other end with air stone. If possible mount the pump on the wall next to the aquarium. Hook for hanging up attached. Regulate air quantity at air outlet. Safe and powerfulThe JBL ProSilent air pump is TÜV tested. With 400 l/h air output and only 5.5 W power consumption it is powerful and ensures safety through an air connection with hose screw connection. A noise suppression air chamber, the reinforced housing wall and vibration dampening silicone feet reduce any noise. The device is equipped with a check valve. Important: because the noise level cannot be totally eliminated, the pump is not suitable for use in bedrooms. Natural lighting conditions This is particularly important as it has not yet been possible to simulate natural light conditions in the terrarium. In nature, light intensities of 100,000 lux and more are achieved. A high light intensity is particularly important for the well-being of desert dwellers and influences the colouration and activity of the animals. Although the Bright Sun 70W does not quite come close to the sun with over 60,000 lux at a distance of 30 cm, it is far ahead of mixed-light UV spotlights (approx. 10,000 lux), fluorescent lamps and spotlights. High energy efficiency The basis for this high light output is the energy efficiency of the lamp. A large proportion of the energy used is converted into light, whereas with filament lamps 95% of the energy is converted into heat. As a result, the waste heat of the lamps is low and they can also be used in smaller terrariums. Thanks to the efficient reflector design, almost all the heat generated is concentrated in the light focus, making the lamp ideal for creating warm basking areas. Optimised for desert reptiles The spectrum of the lamp has been optimised for desert reptiles. Tests have shown that reptiles from desert regions prefer a daylight spectrum with a colour temperature of approx. 6000K. This is achieved by the BrightSun UV Desert. Together with the heat and UV radiation as well as the high illuminance, the animals practically have a small mini sun in the terrarium. The expected lifespan is over 6000 hours; however, replacement is recommended after one year, as the spectrum begins to change after a certain age due to technological factors, and both UV radiation and overall light output diminish over time. The Bright Sun fits into E27 porcelain sockets, but requires a special ballast such as the Lucky Reptile Bright Control ballasts for operation.
