The kidney with hollow is used as an intermediate stage or as an end section on two natural logs. When used as an end section, a hole must be drilled in the centre of the kidney, otherwise the kidney is not stable enough if it protrudes 70cm into the void.
As an intermediate stage, the kidney must always be built with two natural logs, as the cover is only available with two cut-outs.
