Product information "Seed mix for pet birds"
Seed mixture for pet birds
This special seed mix has been carefully developed for feathered friends, from small finches to large parrots and parakeets.
It serves as the perfect complement to their main food by providing fresh plants that you can easily grow yourself. This flower-rich selection consists mainly of native annual and perennial plants such as:
- Garlic Hederich (Alliaria petiolata)
- Field forget-me-not (Myosotis arvensis)
- White honey clover (Melilotus albus)
- Field deadnettle (Lamium purpureum)
- Meadow yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
- Chicory (Cichorium intybus)
- Annual sunflower (Helianthus annuus)
- Field marigold (Calendula arvensis)
- Soapwort (Saponaria officinalis)
A semi-shady to sunny location is recommended for planting, with soil that can range from fresh to moist and from nutrient-poor to nutrient-rich.
The mixture covers an area of 5 square meters.
Sow directly outdoors in spring. To do this, you should loosen the soil, remove stones and weeds, spread the seeds evenly, press down lightly, cover with a thin layer of soil and keep moist until germination. Of course, the seeds can also be sown in pots.
During the flowering period, the plants can be harvested and fed to the animals in the aviaries. A real, natural change with lots of potential for activity.
To provide insects and wild birds with a food source over the winter, ideally leave the plants standing over the winter and only cut them back completely after the winter season.
The use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides should be avoided at all costs.
