Urine-Off bewirkt die Auflösung des Harns bzw. der Harnkristalle durch Enzyme und Bakterien. Somit ist es einzigartig in seiner Wirkung. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Mitteln, welche lediglich den Geruch überdecken, wird die Ursache beseitigt. Die Tiere werden nicht weiter zum Markieren animiert. Dieser Effekt wird im Urine Off für Katzen dadurch verstärkt, dass gleichzeitig Pheromone enthalten sind.
