An ecological, sustainable small animal enclosure from Multipla
Multipla by Ferplast is a complete range of modular cages that can be adapted to any need. Thanks to the separately available extension kits, it is indeed possible to get the optimal configuration for your friend: You will find some ready-made suggestions in the instruction manual. With a patented design, spacious and comfortable, the Multipla living spaces are environmentally sustainable products, with a floor and walls made of recycled plastic. The panels, on the other hand, are made of solid metal mesh. The Multipla Maxi model provides 1.02 square meters of living space. Equipped with a sliding roof and removable in different sections, it has a sliding door with a safety lock to prevent accidental break-out and a removable side for easy cleaning. The base has been designed to effectively collect dirt and waste. Included accessories: 600 CC drinking bottle, 0.3 litre food bowl, automatic feeder and a house with a ladder. Like all cages in the range, Multipla Maxi is supplied in a kit: Thanks to the practical connection system and the supplied connectors, it can be assembled without special tools. Das Zwergkaninchen stammt vom europäischen Wildkaninchen ab. Dieses hat sich im Laufe der Jahrhunderte von seiner ursprünglichen Heimat, der Iberischen Halbinsel über ganz Europa verbreitet. Der Lebensraum ist Gras- und Buschlandschaften, wo die Tiere in Gruppen leben. Feldhasen und Kaninchen sind nicht wie vielfach angenommen, miteinander verwandt.Das Zwergkaninchen wurde aus der Rasse der Hermelin-Kaninchen herausgezüchtet.

Haltung:
Zwergkaninchen können bei guter Pflege bis acht Jahre alt werden. Wer sich für Zwei entscheidet, sollte sich im Klaren sein, dass er ein ganzes Kaninchenleben lang für die Tiere verantwortlich ist.Zwergkaninchen sind von Natur aus gesellige Tiere. Eine Möglichkeit ist, sich zwei Weibchen - wenn möglich aus demselben Wurf auszusuchen. Jedoch können auch diese nach der Geschlechtsreife bekämpfen. Zwei Männchen bekämpfen sich immer.Eine gute Möglichkeit ist ein Paar, wobei das Männchen natürlich kastriert sein muss.Die Zwergkaninchen müssen von klein auf zusammen gehalten werden. Ein zweites Tier mit einem schon älteren Tier zusammen zu bringen ist sehr schwierig und braucht viel Geduld.Die Haltung in der Wohnung verlangt viel Platz, da die Kaninchen einen grossen Käfig brauchen. Der kleinste Käfig, der Kaninchen mit viel Auslauf empfohlen wird, hat die Masse von 140x66cm. Dieser Käfig muss unbedingt noch mit Etagen und Unterschlupfmöglichkeiten ausgestattet werden. Denn bei zu kleinem Raum werden die Zwergkaninchen oft aggressiv, da sie ihr "kleines" Territorium verteidigen. Wer genügend Platz besitzt, sollte sich ein Käfig von 150x75cm anschaffen.Man kann Zwergkaninchen auch im Freien halten. Ein Haus, in dem sie bei Regen und Kälte Zuflucht finden - verbunden mit einem Freigehege entspricht den natürlichen Bedürfnissen der Kaninchen. Achtung: Kaninchen graben tiefe Tunnel und Löcher - das Gehege sollte ausbruchsicher sein.

Mit dem Zusatzfutter kann man den Zwergkaninchen Abwechslung in den Menüplan bringen. Durch einen Salz- und Mineralstein wird das Kaninchen mit den Mineralstoffen versorgt.Über Frischkost, wie Obst, Karotten oder Löwenzahn freut sich das Kaninchen besonders. Bitte niemals Kohl oder rohe Bohnen füttern - da er Blähungen verursacht (resp. rohe Bohnen giftig sind). Achten Sie darauf, dass das Frischfutter ungespritzt ist.Der Flüssigkeitsbedarf eines Kaninchens wird nicht über das Grünfutter abgedeckt. Sie benötigen täglich frisches Wasser, am Besten in einem Trinkautomaten.
Regelmässige Kosten (im Monat/bei 2 Tieren):
Futter: ca. Fr. 20.--
Einstreu und Heu: ca. Fr. 50.--
Tierarzt: Je artgerechter und sauberer die Haltung, desto seltener droht der Gang zum Tierarzt. Dennoch muss man immer damit rechnen, dass ein Tier auch einmal krank werden kann und dann zusätzliche Kosten verursacht.
Bevor Sie sich für Zwergkaninchen entscheiden, sollten Sie unbedingt ein entsprechendes Fachbuch gelesen haben.Für jede Tierhaltung gilt: Kinder müssen von den Eltern angeleitet, beaufsichtigt und kontrolliert werden.
