Healthy aquarium / healthy pond with near-natural conditions
The correct water values in the aquarium/pond depend on the fish population and the plants present. Even if the water looks clear, it may be contaminated. If the values are poor, diseases or algae can form in the aquarium/pond. For a healthy aquarium/pond with near-natural conditions, it is important to regularly check and adjust the water values.

JBL offers water tests in the form of rapid tests or color change tests for every water analysis. These determine a specific value or several values simultaneously. With these water tests, algae problems can be detected and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc. can be determined.

Why test:
Nitrite is produced when bacteria break down protein and ammonium. It is normally further processed into non-toxic nitrate. Nitrite (NO2) should not be measurable in aquarium and pond water. If nitrite is nevertheless measurable, the bacterial degradation process is disturbed and from a concentration of 0.4 mg/l it becomes dangerous or even fatal for fish, as nitrite blocks the oxygen transport in the blood of the animals. Water changes and good bacterial starters such as JBL Denitrol or JBL BactoPond can help.

JBL PRONOVO BEL FLAKES M
Litre : 1000ml
JBL PRONOVO BEL FLAKES MAquarium staple food flakes in size M for normal aquarium fish from 8 to 20 cm in size for community aquariums.Prebiotic and floating aquarium fish food: special balast substances in the food provide the beneficial intestinal bacteria with nourishment for healthy digestionNatural raw materials without artificial additives for a natural diet and healthy aquarium fish. Tested on JBL research expeditions in the tropicsVery high acceptance even by fussy fish species due to high-quality raw materials such as salmon, squid, shrimps and garlicWith the very high-quality natural astaxanthin from krill and spirulina, which ensures perfect colour formation in ornamental fishScope of delivery: original sealed, airtight and lightproof, recyclable tin with click-doser as feeding aid or 20 g in a fresh bagIn community aquariums with different species of fish, the ornamental fish kept will also have different requirements for the fish food. JBL PRONOVO BEL takes into account the different types of food and offers your fish a great variety and diversity for a natural and healthy diet. If you would like to perfect the food supply, you can supplement the main food JBL PRONOVO BEL with other food types from the JBL species concept as well as treats. The biological species concept for ornamental fish:In addition to a staple food such as JBL PRONOVO BEL for community aquariums, the JBL PRONOVO species concept is available to your fish. Within the species concept you can supplement food specifically for fish species or also choose instead of the main food. It is not a problem if, for example, your fighting fish also eats the food for your barbs and vice versa. It is only important that you offer the appropriate food for each group of fish. Variety is always positive!Would you, for example, like to feed your neon or armoured catfish exactly the right food? No problem: in the JBL species concept you will find a granulate for neon tetras (and other small tetras) which is suitable for mouths and whose composition is precisely adapted to the needs of the fish, including insects: JBL PRONOVO NEON. In their natural habitats in South America, neon tetras live in very nutrient-poor black water biotopes and depend on small, mouth-friendly plankton. Corydoras, on the other hand, live on the bottom and have a different food spectrum. JBL PRONOVO CORYDORAS (Corydoras = scientific name of the armoured catfish species) therefore contains suitable raw materials such as shrimps and spirulina. The armoured catfish need a varied diet for a healthy diet. The shrimps are representative of all the small animal organisms and also carrion, which the armoured catfish feel on the ground with their barbels.

JBL ProScan - Water analysis / Smartphone App
Variant: Basic set | Variant (2): Basic set
JBL ProScan - Water analysis via smartphone app JBL ProScan - Water analysis with evaluation via smartphone app With JBL Pro Scan, the current aquarium water values can be determined quickly and easily via smartphone app. All you need to do is install the free JBL app from the Apple AppStore or Google PlayStore on your smartphone. Basic set: Contains 24 analysis strips (GH, KH, pH, nitrite, nitrate, chlorine and CO₂ calculation) with associated JBL ProScan ColorCard. The colour chart serves as a reference when scanning the analysis strip. The result is evaluated and, if necessary, instructions are displayed on how the water values can be optimised. The corresponding app is available free of charge. Refill set: 24 analysis strips for digital evaluation with the JBL ProScan app. Depending on the area of application, the app can be used in "Aquarium fresh water", "Garden pond water" and "Water" mode. If "Aquarium freshwater" and "Water" are selected, the app also automatically calculates the current CO2 content in the water from the values determined for pH and KH. Based on the results of the analysis, the app provides specific recommendations for action and information on how to achieve ideal water values. The "Water" function only provides the pure water values. The recording of the analysis strips and the calibration with the ColorCard should be carried out in bright daylight or artificial light. Direct sunlight should be avoided. The specified sequence of the app should always be followed during the measurement to ensure correct results. The app can be used in German and French. Instructions for use:After starting the app for the first time, a one-off calibration using the JBL ProScan ColourCard is required. This calibration can be carried out quickly and easily by anyone. Afterwards, the water values can be analysed and evaluated immediately in conjunction with the JBL ProScan analysis strips. Immerse the analysis strip in water for 1 second, shake it off and then place it on the reference colour card (JBL ProScan ColorCard). Select the water type with the free ProScan app (in the Apple store & Google PlayStore), scan the colour card like a QR code and wait briefly for the result (waiting time is carried out by the app). The result is displayed directly in mg/l, ° hardness and the pH value. The values are evaluated by the app (good - medium - bad) and recommendations for optimisation are displayed. The type of ambient light is automatically evaluated and taken into account for colour calibration. The JBL ProScan analysis strips have been specially adapted for evaluation with the colour chart. No accuracy can be guaranteed with other test strips.

To maintain a healthy aquarium/pond with conditions close to nature it is important to check and adapt the water values regularly. For each water analysis JBL provides water tests in the form of quick tests or colour change tests. These determine a certain value or several values in one go. With these water tests you can recognise algae problems and negative nitrate, nitrite, potassium, magnesium values etc.Why test?Depending on origin and consistency of the subsoil, water may contain varying quantities of alkaline earth salts, usually in the form of calcium and magnesium salts. General hardness, by definition, is the sum of calcium and magnesium ions suspended in the water. Most fish and plants thrive well at a general hardness of between roughly 8 and 20°dH. Excessive total hardness values, should, however, be counteracted by the appropriate measures.JBL Online LaboratoryRegular control for a healthy aquarium/pond with conditions close to nature. JBL ProTemp outdoor heater
Watt: 300 watts
JBL PROTEMP - External heater for freshwater aquariums In-line heater integrated into the hose of the external aquarium filter, removing the need for a heater INSIDE an Aquarium Easy installation: cut through the hose from the external filter that feeds the water back into the aquarium, insert the external heater in between, insert the plug and set the water temperature you want This integration in the filter circuit ensures a very even distribution of the water temperature with an accuracy of +/- 0.5 °C in the aquarium LED display of the current and desired temperature. Interchangeable hose connections for 12/16, 16/22, and 19/25 mm with hose locks. Total length: 30.5 cm Package contents:e 300 = 1 in-line heater 300 W for aquariums from 90-300 l (80-120 cm) with hose connections for 12/16, 16/22 and 19/25 mm and cleaning brushe 500 = 1 in-line heater 500 W for aquariums from 160-600 l (100-150 cm) with hose connections for 12/16, 16/22 and 19/25 mm and cleaning brush Most aquarium fish come from tropical waters and need water temperatures between 22 and 30 °C. In community aquariums with fish/invertebrates from different regions, a water temperature of 24-26 °C has shown to be effective. 30 °C is only suitable for some fish breeding (e.g. discus fish). Many shrimp species come from cooler waters and do not tolerate temperatures of 25-30°C. The water temperature should be set with a "regulated heater" which regulates the temperature automatically. For this purpose, there are rod-shaped heaters which are fixed in the aquarium (JBL ProTemp s) in various wattage and external heaters/in-line heaters which are integrated in the water-returning hose of an external filter (JBL ProTemp e) in two wattage. The advantage of external heaters is that it is one less product to be placed INSIDE the aquarium and the distribution of heat in the aquarium is more even. In addition, the digital display of the external heater always clearly shows the current water temperature. Under gravel heating is NOT used to set the water temperature. An under gravel heating cable ensures a better flow of water through the substrate of the aquarium, as the heated water at the heating cable rises and colder water flows into the areas between the heating cables. Thus, nutrients are flushed to the plant roots and ensure optimal plant growth. Under gravel heating cables must always be supplemented by a "main heater" (JBL ProTemp s or e).
