If you take your dog with you in a convertible car, go for long walks in snowy terrain or in extremely dusty conditions - your dog's eyes need to be protected. Sunglasses protect the eyes in particular from external influences.
The lenses filter out harmful rays from the light spectrum and at the same time shield the eye from wind and particles in the air.
The different spectra of sunlight (UV -C, -B, -A / visible light, IR) are absorbed to different degrees by the anatomical structures of the eye (lens, cornea and retina). Depending on the intensity and type of tissue, this results in various structural changes on the cornea, in the lens or in the retina. Mechanical irritation (caused by sand, dust and other particles), allergy effects or even dehydration lead to irritation and consequently to inflammation of the eye or its associated structures.
