Ideal for pufferfish, loaches and featherbarbel catfish.JBL ProNovo Snail 100 ml is a high-quality specialised food made from whole, gently freeze-dried freshwater snails complete with shells. The food is particularly suitable for snail-eating ornamental fish such as pufferfish, loaches and barbel catfish. Many of these species regularly eat snails in the wild, which is why JBL ProNovo Snail provides a natural food supplement. The whole snails, complete with their shells, encourage natural feeding behaviour. Whilst many fish pull the soft flesh out of the shell, larger species crack the shells directly. For pufferfish, this natural form of food can also support the necessary tooth wear.JBL ProNovo Snail is natural, gently freeze-dried and contains no additives or preservatives. This makes it suitable as a ‘ Haupt ’ or supplementary feed for specialised species, as well as a special treat for many other aquarium fish.Your benefits at a glance100% freeze-dried freshwater snails with shellsIdeal for pufferfish, loaches and feather-beard catfishSupports natural feeding behaviourNatural food form with shellCan support tooth wear in pufferfishGently freeze-driedNo additives and no preservativesDirections for useFeed JBL ProNovo Snail as a staple food or as a supplementary treat, depending on the fish species and their requirements. Only add as much food to the aquarium as the fish can consume within a short time. Any uneaten remains should be removed to ensure water quality remains stable.Once opened, store the food in a dry, cool place and keep it tightly sealed. JBL recommends using up an opened tin of food within about four months, if possible, to ensure that freshness and quality are maintained.Zoo Roco TipJBL ProNovo Snail is particularly suitable for pufferfish, as snails form part of their natural diet and the hard components can help with tooth wear. For pufferfish, you should also ensure a varied diet and suitable water parameters. For loaches and featherbarb catfish, ProNovo Snail can be used as a high-quality supplement to their normal diet.

Use 2 drops per 1 litre of water. For a partial water change, the dosage is calculated based on the volume of water being replaced.Always use the water conditioner whenever fresh tap water comes into contact with the aquarium. To maintain stable water parameters, the temperature, pH, hardness and nitrite levels should be checked regularly.Zoo Roco TipBetta fish are sensitive to poor water quality and significant fluctuations. Prepare fresh water with JBL NanoBiotopol Betta before every water change and ensure that the temperature matches that of the aquarium water as closely as possible. Regular but gentle water maintenance is particularly worthwhile in small aquariums.

JBL ProCristal Compact plus UV-C – water clarifier for aquariumsJBL ProCristal Compact plus UV-C 5 W and 11 W – compact UV-C water clarifier for freshwater and marine aquariums. Reduces floating algae, greenish and whitish cloudiness. The JBL ProCristal Compact plus UV-C is a compact UV-C water clarifier for freshwater and marine aquariums. It helps maintain clear and healthy aquarium water by quickly and efficiently reducing greenish and whitish cloudiness. A UV-C clarifier can be a useful addition to your filter system, particularly in cases of floating algae, bacterial cloudiness or increased bacterial load. The unit is connected to an external filter or a suitable pump in a space-saving manner. Thanks to the practically arranged inlet and outlet ports, the UV-C clarifier can be easily integrated into existing aquarium set-ups. The 5 W version has a minimum installation length of 32 cm, whilst the 11 W version has a minimum installation length of 42 cm.The JBL ProCristal Compact plus UV-C is available in two power ratings: the 5 W version is suitable for partial disinfection of aquariums up to 300 litres and for combating floating algae in tanks up to 100 litres, in each case with a pump delivering a maximum of 300 l/h. The 11 W version is suitable for partial disinfection in aquariums up to 800 litres and for combating floating algae in aquariums up to 200 litres, in each case with a pump with a maximum flow rate of 500 l/h. An integrated safety switch automatically switches off the UV-C lamp when the unit is opened.Your benefits at a glanceAvailable in 5-watt and 11-watt versionsSuitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariumsReduces greenish and whitish cloudiness in the waterHelps combat floating algae and bacterial cloudinessSupports partial disinfection and can reduce the risk of diseaseSpace-saving installation on an external filter or pumpWith a safety switch for automatic shut-off when openedTechnical specifications 5 wattsMinimum installation length: 32 cmPartial disinfection: for aquariums up to 300 litresFor combating floating algae: aquariums up to 100 litresRecommended pump capacity: max. 300 l/hTechnical specifications 11 wattsMinimum installation length: 42 cmPartial disinfection: for aquariums up to 800 litresFor combating floating algae: aquariums up to 200 litresRecommended pump capacity: max. 500 l/hDirections for useConnect the JBL ProCristal Compact plus UV-C to a suitable external filter or pump in accordance with the operating instructions. In aquariums, the UV-C unit is usually connected after the filter so that water that is as clear as possible and has been mechanically pre-cleaned flows through the UV-C clarifier.Ensure the flow rate is correct, as excessive pump output can reduce the contact time between the water and the UV-C light. The unit must only be operated when fully assembled and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Never look directly at UV-C light. Always disconnect from the mains before carrying out any maintenance work.Zoo Roco TipA UV-C clarifier is particularly helpful for green water caused by floating algae or milky-whitish cloudiness. However, it is no substitute for regular aquarium maintenance, water changes or identifying the root cause. You should also check the lighting duration, nutrient levels, stocking density and filter performance. For smaller aquariums, the 5 W version is usually sufficient; for larger tanks or where water quality is more heavily compromised, the 11 W version may be more appropriate.

The quality, temperature and pressure of the tap water can affect the actual water yield and the quality of the osmosis water.Zoo Roco TipFor sensitive aquarium inhabitants, shrimps, planted tanks and marine aquariums, reverse osmosis water provides an excellent basis for precisely and consistently maintaining water parameters. If necessary, use suitable hardness-increasing salts or seawater salt to ensure the water is optimally adapted to the specific animals and plants in the tank. Check the water parameters regularly using suitable test kits or a conductivity meter.

Ammania gracilis – red stem plant for aquascapingAmmania gracilis – a decorative red stem plant for the midground and background. Ideal for aquascaping, with beautiful colouration when provided with light, CO₂ and a good supply of nutrients.Ammania gracilis is an attractive stem plant for freshwater aquariums and is particularly popular in aquascaping. The plant produces elongated, slightly wavy leaves which, depending on light and nutrient levels, can range in colour from greenish to coppery to a rich reddish hue. This allows it to add beautiful splashes of colour to the aquarium and makes it ideal as an eye-catching feature in the midground or background.Under good conditions, Ammania gracilis grows upright and can reach a height of around 20 to 50 cm. To develop an intense red colour, the plant requires medium to strong lighting, a good supply of nutrients and, ideally, CO₂ supplementation. It develops its full colour particularly well under strong light and with sufficient micronutrients.Ammania gracilis is suitable for planted aquariums, aquascapes and ‘ Holland ’ aquariums. Regular trimming keeps the plant compact and encourages bushier branching. The cut shoot tips can be replanted directly into the substrate.Your benefits at a glanceAttractive red stem plant for aquariumsIdeal for the midground and backgroundAdds lovely splashes of colour to the aquascapeGrowth height approx. 20–50 cmParticularly beautiful colouration under good lightingBenefits from CO₂ injection and nutrient fertilisationEasy to propagate by pruningHeight: approx. 20–50 cmInstructions for useBefore planting, carefully remove the pot, rockwool or transport material from the roots. If necessary, divide the plant into smaller sections and plant the individual stems in the substrate, leaving a little space between them. This ensures the shoots receive enough light and can develop well.Ammania gracilis prefers a bright spot in the aquarium. Moderate to strong lighting, as well as a regular supply of macro- and micronutrients, promote healthy growth and vibrant colouration. Adding CO₂ is recommended, as the plant grows significantly more vigorously and with more intense colour when supplied with sufficient CO₂.Regular pruning encourages bushier growth. The cut shoot tips can be replanted as cuttings.Zoo Roco TipTo develop a beautiful red to copper-coloured hue, Ammania gracilis requires plenty of light and a steady supply of nutrients. Do not plant the stems too densely, so that the lower leaves also receive sufficient light. When combined with light-green plants, this creates a particularly beautiful colour contrast in the aquarium.

As they sink slowly, fish in the middle water zone can also reach their food easily.

JBL ProAquaTest pH 6.0–7.6 – pH water testJBL ProAquaTest pH 6.0–7.6 is a precise drop test for freshwater aquariums. It comes with a laboratory comparator system, colour scale, 2 glass cuvettes and reagent – sufficient for approx. 80 measurements. The JBL ProAquaTest pH 6.0–7.6 is an easy-to-use drop test for accurately determining the pH value in freshwater aquariums. The measuring range from pH 6.0 to 7.6 is particularly suitable for community aquariums, planted aquariums and aquascapes where a slightly acidic to neutral pH value needs to be maintained. A stable pH value is important for the well-being of fish, shrimps and plants. As many dissolved substances in the water are affected by the pH value, significant fluctuations should be avoided. The JBL test helps to detect changes at an early stage and to check water parameters regularly. Thanks to the laboratory comparator system, any natural colouration of the aquarium water is compensated for. To do this, one cuvette is filled with aquarium water and reagent, whilst a second cuvette serves as a control sample. The value is then read off the colour scale. The test kit is sufficient for approx. 80 measurements and contains reagent, 2 glass cuvettes with screw caps, a pipette, a comparator block and a colour scale.Your benefits at a glanceDrop test for determining the pH valueMeasuring range: pH 6.0–7.6Suitable for freshwater aquariumsIdeal for community aquariums, planted aquariums and aquascapingPrecise monitoring in the slightly acidic to neutral rangeLaboratory comparator system compensates for the water’s natural colourEasy to use with colour changeFor approx. 80 measurementsHelps to detect pH fluctuations at an early stageInstructions for useFill the cuvettes with aquarium water in accordance with the instructions. Add the reagent to one cuvette, place both cuvettes in the comparator block and compare the colour with the colour chart provided. After the measurement, the cuvettes and syringe should be rinsed thoroughly with clean water. When setting up a new aquarium, JBL recommends measuring the pH value daily during the first week. After that, a check once a week is usually sufficient, provided no particular problems or significant changes occur in the aquarium.Zoo Roco TipThe pH value should always be considered alongside other water parameters such as KH, GH, nitrite and nitrate. Regular monitoring is particularly advisable when using CO₂ fertilisation, carrying out water changes or keeping sensitive fish and shrimp species.
