In aquariums, the UV-C unit is usually connected after the filter so that water that is as clear as possible and has been mechanically pre-cleaned flows through the UV-C clarifier.Ensure the flow rate is correct, as excessive pump output can reduce the contact time between the water and the UV-C light. The unit must only be operated when fully assembled and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Never look directly at UV-C light. Always disconnect from the mains before carrying out any maintenance work.Zoo Roco TipA UV-C clarifier is particularly helpful for green water caused by floating algae or milky-whitish cloudiness. However, it is no substitute for regular aquarium maintenance, water changes or identifying the root cause. You should also check the lighting duration, nutrient levels, stocking density and filter performance. For smaller aquariums, the 5 W version is usually sufficient; for larger tanks or where water quality is more heavily compromised, the 11 W version may be more appropriate.

JBL Clearol - Water clarifier for crystal clear water JBL Clearol removes all types of turbidity such as floating algae or bacterial turbidity. Eliminates all types of turbidity that are not captured by the filter. Both floating algae (green turbidity) and bacterial turbidity (whitish turbidity) or the finest floating particles are flocculated and then removed from the filter. Only use at pH values above 6 and KH values above 5° dKH! ApplicationAdd the required dose of JBL Clearol to the aquarium at a point with sufficient water movement. The turbid matter is combined into larger units (coagulates) and sinks to the bottom or is retained by the filter. Siphon off turbid matter that has sunk to the bottom and clean the filter more frequently.
