The JUWEL Bioflow Super is the ideal internal filter for beginner aquariums up to approx. 150 litres in volume and offers you many advantages. The Bioflow Super follows the principle "the water stays in the aquarium!" and thus represents the safest way to filter the water in your aquarium. The Bioflow Super operates without hose connections susceptible to leakage, which also reduce pump performance due to friction. This filter system is distinguished by its large filter volume, which provides space for excellent mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. The Bioflow Super, in contrast to other filters, especially external filters, can be cleaned in just a few minutes.
The dual-flow principle ensures different flow speeds in the JUWEL Bioflow Super. A comparatively fast flow speed is particularly beneficial for mechanical and chemical filtration in the upper filter area. A slower flow speed, on the other hand, is beneficial in the lower filter area to guarantee optimal development of anaerobic bacteria, which are of essential importance for biological filtration.
The Bioflow filters are also prepared for the accommodation of JUWEL heaters, which are thus optimally integrated into the water circuit and ensure even heat distribution in all areas of your aquarium.
Each Bioflow Super is equipped with four high-quality filter media:
- The filter floss picks up coarse dirt particles in the water and thus serves as a mechanical pre-filter.
- The activated carbon absorbs odour and clouding substances as well as toxic compounds and ensures crystal-clear water. It thus serves as a chemical filter.
- Nitrax is a biological filter medium and contains special micro-organisms for the breakdown of toxic metabolic by-products (ammonium / nitrite) in your aquarium. This reduces the risk of fish mortality. Nitrax also reduces algae growth through the anaerobic breakdown of nitrate and thus promotes the vitality of your fish.
- The fine filter sponge is primarily used for biological filtration in the anaerobic area. The use of the special filter basket guarantees easy removal and cleaning of the filter media.

JUWEL Phorax is a highly effective filter medium used to break down phosphates in your aquarium. This effectively reduces the growth of algae and can contribute to improved plant growth.
Phosphate regularly gets into aquariums through fish food and are naturally very unlikely to be broken down. However, plants need only tiny quantities of phosphate for their natural growth (fresh water: 0.05 mg/l, saltwater 0.01 mg/l). Too much phosphate can, in some cases, trigger prolific algae growth. Phorax consists of an aluminium mineral which binds dissolved phosphate by creating a water-insoluble aluminium phosphate and removing it from the water. The Bioflow Super, in contrast to other filters, especially external filters, can be cleaned in just a few minutes. The dual-flow principle ensures different flow speeds in the JUWEL Bioflow Super. A comparatively fast flow speed is particularly beneficial for mechanical and chemical filtration in the upper filter area. A slower flow speed, on the other hand, is beneficial in the lower filter area to guarantee optimal development of anaerobic bacteria, which are of essential importance for biological filtration. The Bioflow filters are also prepared for the accommodation of JUWEL heaters, which are thus optimally integrated into the water circuit and ensure even heat distribution in all areas of your aquarium.

The filter floss picks up coarse dirt particles in the water and thus serves as a mechanical pre-filter.
The activated carbon absorbs odour and clouding substances as well as toxic compounds and ensures crystal-clear water. It thus serves as a chemical filter.
Nitrax is a biological filter medium and contains special micro-organisms for the breakdown of toxic metabolic by-products (ammonium / nitrite) in your aquarium. This reduces the risk of fish mortality. Nitrax also reduces algae growth through the anaerobic breakdown of nitrate and thus promotes the vitality of your fish.
The fine filter sponge is primarily used for biological filtration in the anaerobic area. The use of the special filter basket guarantees easy removal and cleaning of the filter media.
