Tetra Algizit 10 tablets – algae control in the aquarium

Tetra Algizit contains 10 fast-dissolving tablets to combat green, brown, brush and beard algae. Easy to dose for up to 200 litres of freshwater aquarium water.

Tetra Algizit is a highly effective algae control product for freshwater aquariums, specially developed to treat severe and persistent algae infestations. The rapidly dissolving tablets release their active ingredient directly into the aquarium water, helping to combat unwanted algae in a targeted manner.

Algae are a natural part of an aquatic ecosystem. However, excessive algae growth can detract from the appearance of the aquarium and hinder the development of aquatic plants. Algae can multiply rapidly within a short space of time, particularly in the event of a severe nutrient surplus or unfavourable lighting conditions.

Tetra Algizit is effective against green, brown and red algae and is also suitable for combating particularly stubborn algae species such as brush algae and beard algae. These are often difficult to remove mechanically and can overgrow plants, rocks and decorative items.

The highly concentrated active ingredient formula specifically targets the algae’s metabolism. As the tablets dissolve rapidly, the active ingredient is released immediately after being placed in the water.

Another advantage is the simple and precise dosing. One tablet is used per 20 litres of aquarium water. The pack contains 10 tablets and is therefore sufficient for a total of 200 litres of aquarium water for a single treatment.

Tetra When used correctly, Algizit does not discolour or cloud the water, so the view of the aquarium landscape remains unobstructed during treatment.

The product is suitable for freshwater aquariums containing fish, aquatic plants and beneficial microorganisms. According to the manufacturer, it is safe for these aquarium inhabitants provided the correct dosage is used and the instructions for use are followed.

As this is a concentrated algae control product, Tetra Algizit should be used specifically to tackle acute algae problems. For long-term success, it is important to also identify the causes of excessive algae growth.

Instructions for use

Dosage

Add 1 tablet of Tetra Algizit per 20 litres of actual aquarium water directly into the aquarium
The dosage depends on the actual water volume. Please take into account the water displaced by substrate, rocks, roots and other décor items

Directions for use

Place the tablets in an area with good water movement wherever possible. This allows the active ingredient released to distribute evenly throughout the aquarium
The tablets dissolve quickly and begin releasing the active ingredient immediately
During treatment, a sufficient supply of oxygen should be ensured. If necessary, aeration can be increased using an air pump and an air stone

Important notes during treatment

Suspend activated carbon filtration during treatment
Switch off the UV clarifier during treatment
Do not use other algae control products at the same time
Ensure an adequate supply of oxygen
Regularly remove dead algae mechanically
Carefully monitor the aquarium inhabitants during treatment
Activated carbon can remove the active ingredient from the water, thereby reducing its effectiveness
Removing dead algae is important, as their decomposition can adversely affect water quality and oxygen levels

Repeat the treatment

If the algae infestation persists, the treatment can be repeated after two weeks if necessary, in accordance with the manufacturer’s current instructions

Zoo Roco Tip

Stubborn algae can overrun an aquarium within a short space of time. Tetra Algizit is particularly suitable for the targeted control of severe algae infestations, such as those caused by brush algae or beard algae.

However, successful algae control should not consist solely of treatment with an algae control product. It is crucial to also eliminate the causes of excessive algae growth.

If you experience recurring algae problems, check the lighting duration as well as the nitrate and phosphate levels in your aquarium water.

Excessive lighting duration, overfeeding or an imbalance between light, CO₂ and plant nutrients can promote algae growth.

We also recommend carefully removing heavily affected parts of plants where possible and ensuring healthy, vigorous plant growth.

Tetra Algizit is intended for the treatment of acute algae problems. To maintain an aquarium with low algae levels in the long term, lighting, nutrient supply, water changes and plant growth should be balanced.
